I had softer rubber ones before, pros and cons to both, these are rigid plastic so they may not absorb any movement, but the intent is to keep the outboard from moving - pro is they are red and I see them and do not take off with them in place as often as I did with the black rubber ones I had before. They work as intended I have no issues with them.

I'm able to knock out 2 birds with 1 stone with this product for a fraction of the cost. Fits my 75hp Mercury force outboards hydro and my steering link perfectly. Bought a $31 transom saver kit that's going back because I'd hafta cut down the motor block because I don't want to trailer with engine all the way up. Great Lil product, highly recommend

Super fast delivery and I mean fast. I ordered it on Saturday and it was delivered on Sunday...Easter Sunday! As far as the product goes it fits perfectly. It's made of plastic not hard rubber and takes a little pressure to wedge it on but the motor doesn't move once on. I have a Mercury 250L Pro XS 4 stroke. The red color looks great which was the reason I bought it.
