The lid does not easily twist into place like the original lid, this one requires a lot of force to be used.

This replacement top fits perfectly onto our 4 year old AeroPress when it’s NOT filled with boiling water.However, once you’re preparing a coffee, this top is difficult to twist on and especially hard to twist off - presumably because the Plastic of the AeroPress ever so slightly expands due to the heat.This makes making one coffee dangerous because of the force required. It makes making 2 coffees back to back messy and inconvenient compared to the seamless experience with the original.In the end we will probably end up buying a new AeroPress set…

Für das selbe Geld könnte ich mir fast eine neue AeroPress besorgen. Das ist aber ökologischer Schwachsinn, also in den sauren Apfel gebissen. Passt aber perfekt und ist das ideale Ersatzteil. Ich werde es einfach nicht mehr verlieren...

I don't use my AeroPress on a daily basis at home, but I carry it when I travel. Recently I was staying in a rental condo and, of course, had my coffee press with me. One morning I started to make my coffee and discovered, to my dismay, that I had accidentally thrown this part away the previous day! AAAGGH! (The trash was long gone, no digging through a trash can to find it). This part is vital for using the press. I went online and ordered this replacement immediately. No more coffee on my trip, but when I got the part, it fits perfectly. I was thrilled to find that I could get replacement parts and didn't have to replace the whole AeroPress. If this is what you need, it will do the job.

I lost the cap for my Aeropress on a camping trip, and figured I'd have to order a whole new unit. I was super happy to see that you can order almost any part individually! This is exactly the same as the original, and fits perfectly.
