I used paintball arm pads in the past and they saved my elbows in a crash! These are pretty much the same with a better elbow pad. I also like that the sleeve covers all of my arm pretty much.I went with L/XL.I'm 5'4" and stocky, S/M will be super tight on your bicep if u are my size.Hope this helps!

I got olecranon bursitis on my elbow going only 10 mph on my skateboard. So pretty useless
