This is a review of the Boya mini 2.4 gigahertz ultra mini wireless microphone. The exact kit I received has 2 microphones and 1 USB-C receiver. I'm actually using it right now to begin to “write” this review. Pairing is almost instantaneous once the USB C receiver is plugged in, and a microphone is removed from the charging case. The tiny microphone has a spring-loaded clip to easily attach to your clothing. They weigh so little that when clipped to the neck of a lightweight T-shirt and it causes no sagging. I have it clipped about 6-8” away from my mouth and talking in a normal tone, my voice is easily and accurately picked up. As a test I kept speaking quieter and quieter until it was just barely a whisper, and it kept picking up. That amazed me! somewhere near your mouth. So, whether you're making a video or using speech to text technology, this wireless microphone and receiver work flawlessly. There is a foam rubber covering over the microphone to help cut down on wind noise and the system also includes 3 levels of noise reduction technology. It also offers a feature that alters your voice. There are two options a voice 1 somewhat deep and the other one is high and squeaky, and they are called the uncle voice and the female voice. Personally, I don't see a reason why I would use this feature other than to be whimsical. The unit comes with everything you need. The storage case not only holds microphones and receiver, but it also charges the microphones. It comes with a short USB A to USB C charging cable. Each microphone has approximately a six-hour runtime. They can be used together if you have two people speaking, or individually, which would give you 12 hours of total talk time. The battery in the case can charge each microphone 1 1/2 to two times. The USB C version will work with Android and newer iPhones and iPads or with any computer that has a USB C port. The lightning adapter version will work with iPhone in iPad that are equipped with that port. I did have one minor issue and that was that one of the microphones wasn’t pairing with the receiver. I could not find clear instructions on how to get it to pair, when there were issues. Fortunately, the other microphone paired at once and so I had one that I could still use while I was trying to figure out my issue. The only thing that the quick start guide mentions regarding pairing is that the light on the microphone should be solid blue. I downloaded and reviewed the user’s manual, and it does tell you to press and hold the noise reduction button on the microphone for about five seconds to get it into pairing mode (which is a rapid flash). I tried this multiple times with the unpaired microphone, and it would not stop flashing. After 5 minutes of inactivity the microphones automatically power off (as a battery saving measure).I reached out to customer support via email, as it was after hours. I received a reply in about 12-14 hours and there were very clear instructions on how to properly pair a microphone to the receiver (when the first pairing fails). So that others don't have to go through what I went through I will share the information that Was provided to me. 1.) remove the microphone from the storage case and press and hold the noise reduction button until the microphone powers off (you'll know this because the blue light goes out). 2.) Plug the receiver into a USB C port. 3.) Press and hold the button on the microphone for five seconds to turn it on and then put it in pairing mode. 4.) Press and hold the blue button on the receiver for five seconds and look for the flashing light on the receiver as well. That was the Key Missing Step! At that point the microphone did pair with the receiver. I have had no further pairing issues and every time the microphone comes out of the case it quickly pairs. Hopefully most of you won't have this issue as they are supposed to be “pre-paired” at the factory. I was very pleased with the same day reply from customer support, with concise instructions to resolve my issue.I would highly recommend Boya Mini to anyone looking for a reasonably priced wireless microphone system. One other nice feature, it comes with a 2-year warranty!

I've tried out quite a few wireless lavalier mics. This is the smallest by far! The transmitters, receiver, and even the case are small. If you're using a gimbal for your phone, this small and light receiver would be great! The audio quality is not pro-grade. I have other lavalier mics that clearly sound better. That's not to say this one doesn't sound good; it does. However, if sound quality is your top priority, this one may not be what you want. The noise reduction is effective. Again, it's not as effective as my best lavalier mic set, but it does its job well enough.I tested out the range indoors and found that I started getting dropouts 50' (with three walls) away. That's going to be more than most people need out of this product, so I have no complaints about that. The audio quality and features are good enough for those new to videos. The small size means it will not be burdensome to carry. It's a good value for the price, and will make a good addition to a new videographer's kit.
