Uppers fit well but more like walking trousers than cycling trousers.There is so much extra material, velcro and a zip in the lower leg that makes them likely to snag on chain or elsewhere. Not quite sure what Endura were thinking when the designed these. I like simple when it comes to mtb trousers. Elastic is better I think in lower leg/ankle.I have (had) 2 pairs oh Humvee shorts, and I like them, but trouser version not as good.I also have a pair of Decathlon ROCKRIDER All Mountain Mountain Bike Bottoms, cheaper and better - will buy another of pair of these when the time comes.

My favoured bikes are my road bikes, but I also have a hybrid (road/mountain) bike I use both as my winter trainer (it is the only one I have with mudguards on) & for shopping (fitted rear panniers & ability to tie down larger item on the top of the bike rack. With very rare, short, exceptions, all my riding is on paved surfaces. I ordered these Endura Men's Hummvee Ii Trousers with the idea that I would use them for riding my hybrid bike in winter, when the weather is too cold for shorts. I thought that they would both provide more suitable wear while cycling & be of smarter appearance when I got off my bike than say a pair of jeans would be. I have had Endura cycling clothing since early 2016, when I got 2 X Endura FS-260 bib shorts to use on my successful bid to cycle 700 miles at the age of 70 in 7 days, Channel to Med, raising over £8K for charities. I have been very pleased with the Endura bib shorts.I am less pleased with the Endura Men's Hummvee Ii Trousers: I got the large size, to suit my circa 35/36” waist, waist size being the only clue in Enduras sizing chart. Unfortunately, the legs of the trousers, as others have mentioned, are surprisingly long, though they are saved, to some extent, from dragging on the ground when walking in them, by the zips & supplementary hook & loop tightening straps at the outsides of the bottoms of the trouser legs (they save you from the need to wear cycle clips). The main problem, though, is that the nylon fabric from which they are made is very thin & unlined – they retain no warmth on a winter’s day! It is possible to additionally buy an Endura Clickfast™ Ii liner Boxer Briefs (liner not supplied with the Hummvees) for around £32.99 to go under the Humvee trousers; I haven’t tried them, but looking at the pictures, I don’t think they would greatly enhance insulation from the cold.The Hummvee Ii Trousers have a zip fly & zip closures on all pockets except one hip pocket, which has a short length of hook & loop in the middle, and a tiny pocket on the back of the right thigh, which has a sewn-down (at both sides) flap over the top. Most of the waist top of the trousers is elasticated, with a neat snap-closure adjustable-length belt running though belt loops. There is no shaped foam pad to ease wear on your ‘nether regions’ during a long-distance ride! On the very short experimental ride I did in the Hummvee trousers (it’s very cold this week – end Nov ‘23), I did not experience any rain, but the look of the material & the double sewn seams leads me to believe that the trousers will be suitably water-repellent. I wore long johns underneath, but it was still cold!Maybe I had too high expectations of what I would get from Endura for the £63.50 - £68.12 price tag at time of my order, but my award of 3 stars reflects my disappointment at the value I believe I received.

We were looking for a pair of mud-resistant trousers, and these are ideal. We got a large for a 36" waist and they fitted well. There was still a little room around the waist, which the belt took care of. The only issue is the leg length. I think it's about 32" inside leg and there is no way to shorten them, as there are zippers and velcro fastenings around the ankle. Not a problem for us, but I guess it depends on what kind of activities you're using them for. There is plenty of stretch in the areas where you need it and the material seems quite durable. They are very well made with the seams all double stitched etc. We got the grey colour and it seems a bit darker than I imagined it to be, going from the picture. Still looks good though.There are two zipped pockets at the front, that are quite deep. There are also two deep back pockets, one with a velcro fastening and the other with a zip. There is a small pocket on the leg, which would be fine to keep a padlock key in, but not much more.Overall, a very nice pair of trousers, ideal for wearing on a muddy trail or any other activity where you need robust mud-proof trousers.
