The device is easy to set up straight from the box. There is a short cable so the router is placed near the modem. Additional nodes are required to make the router wireless. Speed wise we have not benefited and that is because we're out in the sticks and still don't have fibre optic broadband and the router capabilitiesare greater than our wired connection allows. Range wise we also have not gained and this is where I was hoping for change and I'm guessing that is because the router is wired to the modem and nodes are required to extend the range. Since where I wanted to extend the range is on surrounding garden additional nodes is not a realistic option. So this isn't the device we needed.The connection is stable with no drop out. It does cover the entire house and about half of out third acre land (but so did our modem).No problem has been experienced with multiple devices used at once but again we are a small family and not able to test the router to it's claimed capability.Shows as WI-FI 6 on devices.Price wise it's a lot of money and additional nodes are required to give it it's full potential. I believe realistically I have testes this in the wrong environment and perhaps it would be more beneficial in an office with multiple users or gamers.

Sicherlich, WiFi 7 ist natürlich der neueste Standard, die eingehende Internetleitung kann bis zu 10 Gigabit einspeisen und bis zu 200 Nutzer können gleichzeitig mit schnellem WLAN versorgt werden. Das ist alles wirklich super und hat sicherlich seinen Preis, aber es muss letzten Endes das Gesamtpaket stimmen. Wenn ich den LINKSYS Velop Pro 7 10G LN1401 mit unserer guten, alten FritzBox 7590 vergleiche, dann ist das ein durchaus diffuses Bild, das sich da abzeichnet. Denn der Router von AVM (jetzt Imker Capital Partners) ist so viel mehr als ''nur'' ein WLAN-Router!1.) WLAN-Performance: Hier kann der LN1401 voll punkten, wenngleich die 7590 auch nicht schlecht ist, hat sie keine Chance gegen den High-Tech-Boliden von Linksys.2.) Maximale Internetgeschwindigkeit: Dieselbe Situation, keine Chance für das Schlachtschiff von AVM.3.) Telefonanlage: Die integrierte DECT-Basis der FritzBox 7590 wird von uns täglich genutzt, um zwei DECT-Telefone und vier Heizkörperregler nativ mit der Box zu verwenden und zu steuern. Das kann Linksys NICHT, also gar nicht.4.) NAS-Speicher: An unserer 7590 hängt ein USB-Stick für den Anrufbeantworter und eine externe Festplatte für diverse Medien und Backups, die über das LAN oder WLAN als NAS-Speicher zur Verfügung stehen. Durch den USB-3.0-Anschluss sogar relativ flott.5.) Anrufbeantworter: Der in die Box eingebaute Anrufbeantworter findet keinen Gegenspieler im Linksys.6.) Fax-Funktion: Wird sicher immer unwichtiger, dennoch eine Funktion, die AVM bietet, Linksys hingegen nicht.7.) Fernzugang: Meine FritzBox kann ich sicher und bequem von jedem Punkt der Erde erreichen, auf die freigeschalteten Funktionen zugreifen und meine super APPs nutzen, die es direkt von AVM oder von Drittanbietern gibt. In dieser Art bei Linksys nicht vorzufinden.8.) Bauform: Meine FritzBox hängt ganz unscheinbar, ja versteckt an der Wand im Büro neben dem Schreibtisch, nimmt dadurch keinen zusätzlichen Platz ein. Der Turm von Linksys hingegen braucht Platz, den ich eigentlich nicht hergeben will.Mein Vergleich konnte die gute alte FritzBox 7590 haushoch für sich entscheiden! Für uns ist dieses letztlich deutlich zu teure WLAN-Monster von Linksys einfach nicht das richtige Gerät. Schnelles WLAN ist eben nicht alles ...

My router did come with a network cable in the box - so perhaps it just was not in the box for everyone. While this device is easy to setup, and does provide WiFi 7 - it does have some issues that makes it a hard sell for myself. It has no USB ports - I always have a device that needs a USB port to get power from the router (for example a Tado thermostat). The other issue for me is that this is being sold as a Mesh system - which ideally means you need at least 2. This device is expensive, so its probably best to buy a pair of these, rather than individually.While it has a 10gb port, which is great if you have a fast internet connection - it only has one of these ports. So if you did have an 8gb connection, only the primary router would get an 8gb connection if you ran ethernet between these devices. Because you would then have to use a 2.5gb port to connect to the 2nd router.If you need just a single router, then its worth looking at this router, however for a mesh device, there are other alternatives.

Eine gute WLAN-Versorgung ist bei uns im Haus immer wieder ein Thema. Wenn alle in der Familie ihre Geräte gleichzeitig nutzen kommt unsere Standard Fritzbox an ihre Grenzen und es wird spürbar, wie sich die "Verbraucher" die Bandbreite teilen müssen.Das Lynksys Velop 7 schafft ihr problemlos Abhilfe, soll es lauf Werbe-Versprechen doch mehr als 200 Teilnehmer versorgen können, aber der Reihe nach:Mit dem Velop-Router kommt ein passendes Netzteil und ein Kat8-Kabel zum Anschluss an die Internet-Quelle- Das ist erst mal Alles was man braucht. Die physikalische Installation ist denkbar einfach, auch wenn ich als WAN einen Port an unserer Fritzbox benutze. Ganz abschalten wollte ich dieses WLAN nicht, da dort der PV-Wechselrichter dranhängt und der ist nicht ganz so schön zu konfigurieren.- Nun gut, 10 MBits können wir sowieso nicht bieten, trotz Glasfaser-Anschluss.Die Konfiguration ist problemlos, allerdings muss man sich zwingend bei Linksys registrieren um Zugang auf den Router zu bekommen. Geht man mit einem Rechner direkt per LAN-Kabel auf den Router kann man sich den App-Download und damit wohl auch die Zwangs-Registrierung sparen.Das neue WLAN ist problemlos zu konfigurieren mit allen Features die man so kennt, hier habe ich Nichts vermisst.Die Sende- und Empfangsleistung ist ebenfalls gut. Das Velop 7 ist einer der ganz wenigen Router, die ich bisher getestet habe, die mit der Performance einer Fritzbox mithalten können, was das Thema Sendeleistung betrifft. In einem Haus mit Betondecken und 3 Stockwerken nicht ganz unwichtig.Mir ist klar, das für einen "normalen" Heimnutzer sowohl die Performance als auch letztlich der Preis etwas ambitioniert ist aber für den, der eine hohe Zahl an Teilnehmern im WLAN hat und die Geschwindigkeit nutzen kann, ist das Velop eine gute Wahl, daher solide fünf Sterne von mir.

Nice simple recyclable packaging. The router design is sleek, and the teardrop shape means it doesn’t quite look just like any other box on a shelf. Product quality is great. Easy to set up, with a qr code and faultless app set up. I come from an ASUS set up before, and what I like about this is that, like the asus, you don’t need a subscription to get the features. But, the app simplicity also means the asus has much more advanced functionality around VPNs, tunnels etc. Chances are, if you’re paying this much, you’ll understand some of this. In use, it’s really fast. I didn’t use it in a mesh set up, but it looks super simple to add them. Perhaps an additional 2.5gb port would have been good for a faster backhaul to connect the mesh nodes. Signal coverage is good, though you’d expect it at this price. I’d say some of the external antenna routers are comparable. It has been in use for nearly a week and has been solid. Price is quite high at £499, especially if you’re needing to buy multiple for a mesh network. That said, multi packs are much better value. So, if you want a really fast router with the latest standards (and of course have WiFi 7 compatible devices), which is simple to setup and manage, and looks great - this is a great buy, if you can afford it. If you need more advanced config, or conversely, cannot really make use of the speed, there are probably cheaper options.

Hierbei handelt es sich um einen WLAN Router / Access Point von Linksys. Das Teil ist enorm leistungsfähig, man hat 4 Ethernet-Ports mit 2,5 Gbit und einen WAN Port mit 10 Gbit. Hinter einer Fritzbox mit maximal 1 Gbit/s kann der Linksys Velop sein Potential niemals ausspielen. Dennoch ist das Teil schon der Hammer. Selbst im Heimnetz habe ich eine gute Leistung im WLAN und auch bei der Kommunikation zum NAS, wenn ich dieses dann auch über 2,5 Gbit anschließe. (War bei mir bisher an der alten Fritzbox)Die Reichweite ist gut, zumindest bei mit im EInfamilienhaus habe ich keine Probleme.Am Ende muss man aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehen und da empfinde ich dieses Modell für einen kleinen Familienhaushalt als echt unangemessen teuer.

I have a relatively advanced network in my house with wired Ethernet throughout and multiple access points but I wanted to try this new WiFi 7 device having given my previous veloop system to my parents as I know I can trust it to be reliable and easy to use. This new WiFi 7 version is a jump up for fibre internet and equally reliable and easy to use.With a 10gbe wan port (out to the internet) and 4 x 2.5gbe LAN ports this is a big step up from standard gigabit routers and as we are lucky to have access to 8gbe fibre we could now look at upgrading, even though I think it’s a little unnecessary at the moment. It is however a shame there isn’t a 10gbe lan port as I do have a home server which would benefit from this and this device wouldn’t allow a single device to max out the multi gig connection.I only have a 500mb connection at the moment but I have been able to fully saturate this connection via a WiFi connection on my phone which is good with a low 7ms latency to the speed test server.Although I think this device is too limited for my use with multiple vlans and different WiFi connections for different devices to protect my computers and servers from cheap internet of things devices. I do think Linksys should add a vlan feature as it is simple but should be included for the £400 price tag. This device has a focus on parental protection and so devices can be controlled and protected at set times or restricted to specific websites and that does make this powerful for parents with a simple interface. I do like the simplicity for this aspect.As I have two of these devices already at my parents house I can easily use the app to add this aspect a mesh device to other devices which is ideal for extending an existing network although I will swap this to the primary device as it does have a stronger connection and range than the older WiFi 5 devices.At £400 it’s not cheap and not for everyone, but I do like the simplicity and expandability of this system which keeps getting updated. For larger houses with access to multi gig systems this is a reliable solution for a plug and play system, plus as new WiFi stand lard come out it can easily be expanded with more systems.

Typical of Linksys products in general, the quality feels very nice, with good weight and a very solid feeling to the base unit. It looks smart and modern too, subtle styling.The price of £400-£500 puts this in the business or professional market really; it would be hard to justify that outlay for home use.We only really use our internet for Netflix and Youtube, shopping, etc. and as such only have a minimal 150Mb broadband, albeit fibre. The speed of this unit is 10Gb, and as such i’m not really able to put it to a proper stress test.It was so easy to setup and get connected. App is straightforward. But i have a modest sized house and don’t have any wifi black spots, even at the bottom of the garden, so didn’t notice any improvement as such, since there weren’t any issues to improve.Again regarding speed… i’m limited by a modest BT connection and as such not allowing this unit to really shine.No one’s fault, certainly no criticism of the unit itself. This is something i simply would never have bought myself. I am please i got to try it and have been happy with the limited amount i’ve made use of it.
