Replaced my BMW cabin air filter with this Mann version. As far as I know, Mann are one of BMW’s suppliers so you’re getting a genuine part just not in a rebadged (and therefore usually more expensive) packet.The filter fits perfectly and seems to be working just fine - well the climate system isn’t showing signs of being unhappy and no dust storms or smells when it’s on. There are two versions, one with activated carbon and this one without. Personal preference as to which you choose. If you have allergies, or live in an area of higher pollution levels, then maybe the carbon version is for you.

Perfect fit. Never replaced a filter in this car before and took me only 13 minutes. I timed it lol.That includes taking some before and after pictures from the old and new filter.What is worth mentioning is that the car was until now under the “fake maintenance” from BMW that comes with a new car and goes until 36.000 miles.Up to this mileage there is no other service the. The oil changes (3) due. The first real checkup is at a higher mileage and not covered anymore.Anyway , those filters where replaced before from a BMW dealership. When I compare the new filters and the filters I took out of the car they look the same.I was expecting to find some BMW marks on the installed filter but perhaps they don’t put their name in it anymore??? Or it could be they also put “after market” parts in.Anyway, BMW quoted me in all seriousness 700 dollar to replace those filters and the Inside filterThe inside filter is on its way and is 25 dollar. Together with those filters the parts came to 55 dollar and I guess a total of 30 minute of work.Well done BMW, lol.We all need to make a living buy that should be considered “robbery”Anyway, if you thinking about replacing those filters then go for it.It’s not complicated and all you need is a screw driver to get one plastic river out that you can push back in once you are done.Those filters here from MANN are the real deal and fit perfectly and state that they are made in Germany. I have no reason not to believe it.

This Mann filter set is a good value and does fit well, matching BMW part # 64316945585. These two filters are located outside, under the hood at the firewall under a removable cover on the passenger side. Refer to (#1) in the diagram below. It is NOT the single recirculated air micro filter (64319194098) which is located inside the vehicle, in the passenger footwell. Item (#2) is the recirculated air micro filter and you will need this 3rd filter if you have the 4 zone climate option (rear a/c package).Edit: Diagram URL was not allowed, but you can find the exploded diagram at RealOEM.
