Amazing SSD external HDD. Read & Write on this HDD is super fast. I like the design and feel very solid. It is very small and compact. I am using it with Mac Mini M1 for photo/video editing and it is working perfectly. I recommend this product.

Zum Sichern meiner Fotos, wenn ich unterwegs bin, habe ich eine passende SSD gesucht. Sie sollte sehr kompakt und natürlich auch robust sein. Geschwindigkeit wäre gut, ist aber nicht unbedingt zwingend nötig. 500GB sind mehr als genug, um auch bei längeren Reisen die Daten zu sichern.Ich habe in den umfangreichen Angeboten auf Amazon Produkte verglichen und bin auf diese Platte von SanDisk gestoßen, die mir passend erschien. Die Lieferung am nächsten Tag war wie bei Amazon üblich sehr schnell. Der kompakte Karton war in einem Pappumschlag verpackt und wurde im Briefkasten zugestellt.Neben der eigentlichen Platte liegt noch ein sehr kurzes USB-C/USB-C Kabel bei, das mit einem ebenfalls beiliegenden Adapter auf USB-A angepasst werden kann.Die Platte ist wirklich winzig (siehe Bilder), sodass sie problemlos in die Tasche des Reise-Notebooks passt. Schön ist die IP55 Schutzklasse. Damit ist sie gegen Staub und Feuchtigkeit/Spritzwasser geschützt. Stoßfest sind SSDs aufgrund ihrer Technik sowieso und das Gehäuse wirkt ebenfalls durchaus so robust, dass es auch mal stärkere Stöße vertragen kann.Ich habe die Platte direkt am Rechner angeschlossen und sie als erstes formatiert. Erste Tests zeigen, dass sie durchaus schnell ist. Ich gehe jetzt nicht hin und teste mit Benchmarks. Für mich geht es darum dass die Fotos auf die Platte kommen und dort sicher gespeichert sind. Ich habe also Fotodateien von der schnellen SD-Karte der Kamera über das Notebook auf die Platte gespeichert. Hier hat die Platte locker mitgehalten. Ich denke, sie hätte noch schneller schreiben können, aber der Rest hat sich bremsend ausgewirkt. Lesen und zurück auf den Rechner schreiben klappte auf jeden Fall sehr zügig.Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit diesem Kauf. Das einzige, was ich bemängle, ist das doch sehr kurze Kabel. Da hätten ein paar Zentimeter mehr durchaus Sinn gemacht. Das hält mich aber nicht davon ab, der Platte wohlverdiente 5 Sterne zu geben.

Als die SanDisc Estreme Portable1TB gestern bei mir ankam und ich sie auspackte, war ich sehr überrascht! Ich wusste von Videos und Web-Bildern, dass sie recht klein sein soll, aber dass sie SO niedlich ist, hätte ich nicht gedacht! Da macht sie ihrem Namen alle Ehre!Und das ist ein großer Pluspunkt! Sie passt fast überall rein und ist dadurch auch super für Unterwegs.Ich habe sie direkt in meine Domiso iPad Tasche in das kleine Fach aussen gesteckt und war überrascht, dass die SanDisc dort hinein passte.Und es war sogar noch Platz für das der Festplatte beiliegende USB-C auf USB-C Kabel, sowie auch für den ebenfalls beiliegenden Adapter von USB-C auf USB-A. Perfekt!Natürlich wurde sie auch direkt getestet. Ist jja schön, wenn sie gut aussieht und handlich ist, aber funktioniert sie auch am IPad Pro 12,9“, für das ich die SanDisc ja gekauft hatte?Ich muss sagen: JA! Und das noch so einfach, schnell und leise, dass ich erst nicht bemerkt hatte und schon dachte, ich müsste noch etwas formatieren oder sonst etwas einrichten, einschalten oder ähnliches.Die Festplatte an den USB-C Port angeschlossen, in die Files App gegangen, geguckt und... schwupps! Da stand sie sofort in der Anzeige bei den anderen Ordnern!Ich hatte zum Testen ein paar Bilder darauf gezogen, was umgehend, schnell und leise vonstatten ging.FAZIT:Eine super kleine, leichte und robuste Festplatte zum Mitnehmen oder auch zuhause oder im Büro.Sie kommt mit dem passenden Kabel, was allerdings etwas kurz ist. Für manche vielleicht ein kleines Problem, ich aber mag es so lieber. Wen es stört, der kann ja getrost ein längeres Kabel kaufen, wovon es eine große Auswahl gibt.Die Öse mit der Orangen Umrandung brauche ich zwar (noch) nicht, aber wer weiß wofür sie mal gut sein könnte. Auf jeden Fall stört sie nicht.Dadurch, dass die Festplatte ohne Mühe und Aufwand sofort erkennt wurde (zumindest bei meinem iPad Pro 2020), ist sie einfach zu benutuen und handhaben.Das Einzige, was ich mir noch wünschen würde ist, dass sie doch irgendwo ein kleines LED Licht hätte, wo man auch erkennen kann, dass die Festplatte erkannt wurde, bzw. dass sie auch arbeitet.Ansonsten kann ich die SanDissc jedem weiterempfehlen!

This external is absolutely perfect for my needs. I bought the 2TB version and it has become my "everything" drive. I love having all of this space in such a portable form factor! It's actually smaller than I expected it to be and it slips perfectly in my pocket and disappears because it's so lightweight. Of course, don't rely on a drive like this alone as your only backup. I have a 12TB NAS with redundancy that I use to back up this SSD (among other things) and my NAS is automatically backed up via Backblaze, so I have three locations (Backblaze being remote), and I have redundancy on my NAS so if one of those drives fails then I can replace it without losing anything.Unfortunately I cannot harness the full speed of this drive because I'm using a 2014 MacBook Pro which only has USB-3, which is about half the speed of USB-C, furthermore I have this plugged into a powered USB hub. That being said, to my surprise I'm actually getting around 405 MB/s writes and 425 MB/s reads, which is significantly better than I thought I would get, this is a little over 4X faster than real world performance of a standard non-SSD external drive, so it's still plenty zippy for my needs!To test a sustained load I moved over my existing Kontakt library (music production plugins and such). A 160GB transfer took me 8 minutes and 23 seconds, which is perfectly fine, when moving using a standard non-SSD external it takes almost 35 minutes! A more reasonable 3GB transfer takes around 7-8 seconds, doing the same file transfer over to my WD EasyStore (standard HDD) takes about 38 seconds. For fun I tested transferring 3GB to my NAS and it took 1 minute 36 seconds. I expected it to be slow because I don't have the best internal network plus I'm using slow (but reliable) drives and it has to write the data multiple times. The NAS is just for bulk storage.The icing on top is the added durability. This is IP55 rated which means it can withstand dust and splashing, which means it's great for outdoor use for storing photos and such. Furthermore, it's rated to withstand a 2 meter (roughly 6.5 foot) drop.This is a great little drive! My MBP only has a 500GB drive and all of my plugins and samples were eating up hundreds of gigs and I was becoming really tired of constantly having to go through everything and try to maintain space. I wasn't even able to download all of my Kontakt content locally because I simply didn't have enough room, so I had to pick and choose what plugins I wanted to have locally, trying to store everything on the NAS was error-prone because Kontakt didn't like it for some reason but it was also way too slow. This drive is fast enough to where I can work on Logic Pro X projects directly on it without having to create scratch space locally, something I couldn't do with a normal non-SSD external (way too cumbersome). Now instead of having only 10-20GB local storage I’m back up to around 320GB - much better! I can breathe!Just remember - don't rely on any external as your only backup! Try to back up your most important data in three locations, one being a remote location, if possible.

I use this drive as a safe and compact backup to all my movies, music and photos. I have 2 other drives storing my precious files but this one is for travel and goes with me everywhere. It is smaller than it looks in the picture and for that I am pleased. It works well and copies at high speeds, my Mac Air recognized it as soon as it was plugged in and I am impressed with the performance and quality. It is built tough and is solid state so will last and last. I may buy only SSD from now on. My data is safe and this small external hard drive is very reliable and I recommend it. I liked it so much, I bought another for a gift.

Esta es la primera memoria SSD que he comprado, antes únicamente había lidiado con HardDrives. Es INCREIBLE la diferencia de velocidad a la que se pueden enviar los archivos, tengo entendido que lo importante es tener un puerto Thunderbolt para poder tener las velocidades referidas, pero por lo que he logrado, puedo transferir archivos de mas de 1gb en menos de 10 segundos.Mas que nada uso esta memoria como base de datos para mi trabajo, asi que me sirve de maravilla, es compacta, asi que no quita mucho espacio en mi maletin.Sigue siendo un precio alto, sin embargo, la calidad me parece bastante buena, si tu objetivo es tener una memoria que te permita visualizar rapido tus archivos, y a la vez estos son bastante pesados, esta es la memoria para ti. Si solo lo quieres para guardar fotos o archivos que rara vez buscaras tener a la mano, usa HardDrive.
