Als DACokay, aber der Kopfhörer-Verstärker hat zu wenig Leistung !

Sorprendente! Appena arrivato questo mini amplificatore mi ha sorpreso per dimensioni, resa audio e versatilità delle connessioni. In pratica lavora con le HD 650 (300 ohm) con le HD 660S (150 ohm) e KLH (32 ohm). Le rese audio sono chiaramente diverse a seconda della personalità della singola cuffia. Mentre scrivo sono con le HD 650 (acquistate 18 anni fa!) connesse in bilanciato, bene senza burning, suonano alla grande. In confronto con amplificatori dal costo dieci volte superiore ci sono notevoli differenze, ma la Portabilità il Prezzo e la Versatilità ne fanno un ottimo acquisto per chi si sposta con il PC. Unica osservazione è la modulabilità del volume che presenta una progressione non troppo lineare e una certa latenza (ritardo nella risposta); forse un mini telecomando anche solo per il volume migliorerebbe un prodotto di qualità/ prezzo già notevole.

Don't have a lot of money to spend on audio products, but I needed something. Bought this based on all the online reviews and haven't been disappointed. I'm sure other, more expensive dacs may be better, but this is clear and works well.

Ich hatte drei Kriterien: (1) keine externe Stromversorgung, sondern Versorgung am USB-C, (2) symmetrischer Ausgang, am besten 4.4mm, und (3) eine tiefe digitale Lautstärke-Regelung.Ich suche seit Monaten, mehr oder weniger spontan... Das Gerät von SMSL ist mir erst nach einiger Recherche unter die Finger gekommen, und ich habe es sofort bestellt. Die Technologie ist vielversprechend: die Wandlung wird von dem sehr prominenten CS43131 übernommen, hier in einfacher Verwendung. Manche Geräte verwenden sogar 2 von diesen Chips. Die Signal-Eingänge verwaltet der XMOS XU-316, die dritte Generation inzwischen, mit Hochbit-fähigen Formaten.Wer nur den Laptop oder das Tablet nutzen möchte, ist mit der 1-Chip-Lösung schon gut bedient. Wir haben ja ganz verschiedene Nutzer, die Digital-Nerds und die Audiophilen. Ich persönlich achte immer auf das Gesamtbild, und bin vom Hype um die Endgeräte nicht so leicht einzufangen. Am Schreibtisch habe ich sowieso keine DSD-Quellen, oder optische Kabel.Ich habe einfach nur die Übertragungsfrequenz im Einstellungsmenu auf die häufigste Sampling-Frequenz der Audiodateien eingestellt. In meinem Fall 24Bit und 48kHz. Das gibt eine fehlerarme Übertragung des Datenmaterials. Niedrig-Bit hat auch Vorteile, nicht zu vergessen!Was der DS100 daraus macht ist beachtlich. Hoher Rauschabstand, guter Grundton, gute Dynamik, ausgeglichene Hörkurve, hohe Leistungsreserve (die man an 32Ohm natürlich nicht braucht).Von der kritischen Seite aus betrachtet: gar keine Einwände. Die spartanische LED-Anzeige auf der Front ist mir egal! Ich musste aber das von WINDOWS bevorzugte DOLBY-Atmos auf dem Laptop stilllegen. Hier ist die digitale KREATIVITÄT zugange, die ich nicht haben möchte. Klingt nicht gut.Nein, im Grundbetrieb ist das Gerät wirklich ein kleines Schätzchen, und all sein Geld (ohnehin wenig) wert. Ich vermute, die Entwicklungslinie DS hat einige Zukunft. Klein, unabhängig vom Stromnetz, hochauflösend und musikalisch. Für den Kopfhörernutzer praktisch ein Muss. Den LINE-Ausgang habe ich nicht getestet, hier beginnt die Leidensgeschichte der Rückkopplungen, die man aber nicht in die Bewertung eines Tischgerätes einfließen lassen sollte. - Die Bluetooth-Einspeisung bei vielen anderen Geräten halte ich übrigens für einen Witz: einmal Bluetooth in der Übertragungskette, führt kein Weg zurück zur hohen Dynamik. Aber der Nutzer will, was der Nutzer will. Deshalb sind all diese Empfänger mit den kleinen Antennen auf dem Markt. Ich bleibe Purist.FAZIT: minimalistisch muss nicht kompromittierend sein. Der SMSL DS100 liefert genau das, was ich gehofft habe. Unabhängig vom Stromnetz, symmetrischer Ausgang und KEIN Drehpotentiometer, das die Musik kurz vor dem Kopfhörer noch einmal durch einen "Schwamm" drückt. Wenig Verzerrung, hoher Rauschabstand, tolle Musik. Warum hat das so lange gedauert, bis meine Wünsche an das Universum Beachtung fanden?!

EDIT2: I upgraded the X-FI card that I'm using as an optical S/PDIF source to a PCIE SB0880 . I'm guessing that this his one seems to have a more stable internal clock source.EDIT: I have added results through optical S/PDIF inputI have only tested in USB mode so far and found no specific issues other than its performance, in my setup at least, being strongly dependent on how it is connected.IMPORTANT note : I used RightMark Audio Analyzer (RMAA) and a MOTU M2 to record and measure the DS100's line-out performance, so the values shown are limited by the MOTU M2's line-in performance and ARE NOT directly comparable to other RMAA tests except possibly if the recording device used was also a MOTU M2.- Volume was set to max on the DS100 and its line-out was used.- Volume was set to max on the Apple A2049 and its headphone out was used.- Gain on the MOTU M2 was adjusted for level to be at -3.1dB for the DS100 tests- Gain on the MOTU M2 was adjusted for level to be at -3.1dB for the Apple A2049 dongle tests- The Apple A2049 needed 6dB more gain than the DS100 for level to be matched on the MOTU M2- The manufacturer provided driver was used through ASIO for the DS100- The default Windows 10 UAC audio driver was used through ASIO4ALL for the Apple A2049- The first column in the first image shows DS100 results through a Plugable USB2-HUB-AG7 USB 2.0 powered hub- The second column in the first image shows DS100 results through a Plugable USB2-HUB-AG7 USB 2.0 without power external power connected- The third column in the first image shows DS100 results directly connected to a motherboard USB 3.1 port- The first column in the second image shows A2049 results through a Plugable USB2-HUB-AG7 USB 2.0 powered hub- The second column in the second image shows A2049 results through a Plugable USB2-HUB-AG7 USB 2.0 without power external power connected- The third column in the second image shows A2049 results directly connected to a motherboard USB 3.1 port- the MOTU M2's performance is unaffected by the USB or not of a USB hub (powered or unpowered)- I also tried some unpowered USB 3.0 hub which, AFAICR, were actually worse than a direct connection for the A2049). Again, the MOTU M2's performance was unaffected by these.- The computer's PSU is a Corsair RM750x- The motherboard is a Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 on which I used the Q-Flash Plus Port (I summarily tested other ports before and saw no notable differences)Conclusion : IMHO, the SMSL DS100 is worth it to me. A decent DAC with powerful output (and a headphone amp), S/PDIF input, physical volume control and good specs, at this price is very nice.

同軸、光、USBを主に各均一に聴いてます。現在とても満足してきます。USB入力機器がもっともチープな機器のためか、2万円クラスのDACから本機とした際の向上は素晴らしいものでした。クロックの効果と推定しています。ただしUSB入力は、当初かなりキツイ音でした。前述のような3入力使用を合計で　一日6時間✖️14日　ほどで、安定しました。操作面のトラブルは、私の購入品は、USB使用のあと、一度電源OFFとしないと、他入力は認識しているが音がでない症状があります。対応わかれば問題ないので、このまま愛用します。

My immediate impression was not love at first sight. After plugging in, this dac reminded me of old Apple headphone out or Mac line out on-board sound. I immediately thought this is going to be a bad experience for me. Back in the day I could never use those to listen to any music seriously. IPods included.At this day the dynamic range is of course playing in a different league. The sound we get here is extremely clean. The manufacturer is talking dynamic range from 110 to 127 dB, depending on how you use the device.After testing with music, I became confident the detail retrieval falls way short if this gets compared to twice as expensive dacs with properly implemented ESS chips from the same brand. At this point I might have rated the dac 2/5. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good solution for something else.The most positive surprise of this device for me was the headphone amp. I own only efficient single-ended headphones that work with mobile devices. For these this headphone amp is really everything I need, easy 5 stars. If you happen to use veiled but efficient sennheiser cans for lossy sources, then you’re not going to need anything better. I wouldn’t try anything above 150 ohm though.When I was testing the dac side with a variety of material, it dawned on me that this device is actually quite well suited to less-revealing setups. If you’re mostly listening to compressed sources (aac or mp3 streaming, digital tv, minidisc, radio), then not-revealing the shortcomings of the source material is actually a very good thing to have. After some getting used to, I preferred using this dac over SU-1, even if the latter has clearly higher resolution AKM chip inside.The only use case where I can’t recommend using this dac, involves significantly more expensive amplifiers, speakers, and top of the line mastered music-only recordings. You’re going to experience significantly more joy with those, if you get some dac with well implemented recent ESS chip, like my choice of D6-S or perhaps DL200 (this I have not tested). Just remember that besides buying expensive speakers and other kit, you might also need to spend $$$ to treat your room.Another viewpoint is that this thing simply does not get warm. Power consumption must be much lower here than with any ESS or AKM dacs I have touched. I would predict a very long life, because heat tends to shorten the life of all electronics. Here you can also replace the usb power source with very little cost when needed.Finally, this thing is simply a very small black box that does the job without drawing attention to itself. Not the best solution to every problem, but it’s very nice to use. It does everything I need, as long as I don’t expect it to deliver too much for the price.For this price, I’m not sure if I could recommend anything better. If you need more detail, I think you have to save money for something significantly more expensive.I’ll try to update my review if any kind of trouble comes up. My listening was 2 evenings with tv and one afternoon with a variety of digital music sources. I used optical input only, and there has been zero technical issues so far.
