Works as advertised. In a time when everything is digital, I find it nice to see an analog type meter.

So I have a 20amp dc power supply I wanted to use this one. figured great, no shunt needed. Well for 30amp, this is not the way to go. The output capacitor on the power supply is a very low ESR cap, and supplies ooodles of surge current, during a short ckt accident, the meter pinned and then to zero , burned open the internal shunt. I didnt have much faith in the fact it has like #6 studs (ok myabe size of a #8 screw) to attached the leads to that are carrying the 20amp (usually 10awg in my world) , Lower current and a PS without much balls, it'll probably be ok. It looks very nice.The original listing made it sound as if the shunt was built in, once you receive it, it's pretty clear it isn't. Once you attempt to use it, its clear it isnt. You can get something with a shunt for the same price on amazon.

You will need to add the correct resistor / shunt in order for the meter to work properly.It would be helpful if the shunt was supplied with the meter.
