Description:
The GPRS Shield is based on SIM900 module from SIMCOM and compatible with and its clones. The GPRS Shield provides you a way to communicate using the GSM cell phone network. The shield allows you to achieve SMS, MMS, GPRS and Audio via UART by sending AT commands (GSM 07.07 ,07.05 and SIMCOM enhanced AT Commands). The shield also has the 12 GPIOs, 2 PWMs and an ADC of the SIM900 module(They are all 2V8 logic) present onboard.
Be careful: Insert the SIM card into the SIM card holder by gently press down the SIM card holder!! Don't force up, otherwise you could damage the card slot!!

J’ai commandé ce module avec une alimentation 5v 2A, et une carte Arduino mega2560. Fonctionne très après avoir fait un petit de lecture de SMS. Le module reçoit bien les messages

Il mio modulo è in uso da alcuni mesi e funziona bene. Testato con SMS, voce e dati. A coloro che non riescono a farlo funzionare suggerisco: 1) leggere bene tutto il datasheet, 2) usare un alimentatore adeguato, 3) usare un gestore (SIM) che supporti la rete GSM-GPRS, 4) controllare i ponticelli della seriale, 5) ovviamente collegare sempre l'antenna, 6) testare i comandi AT con un terminale, a vari baud rate.

module starts up fine but can seem to find even 1 network to connect to.

Lo he solicitado y devuelto dos veces. En ambos casos la regleta del shield està soldada incorrectamente y no sé puede acoplar a los pines del procesador Arduino ( uno O Leonardo). Funciona bien però trabajando independientemente, però Pierde su utilidad como elemento compacto

Ho utilizzato questo modulo per realizzare una bilancia pesa-alveari con 328pu (arduino). Per utilizzarla al meglio ho dovuto studiare tutto il web e mettere insieme più thread da vari forum, visto che anche le librerie di Arduino non supportavano al meglio tale modulo. Facendo piccoli passi ogni giorno sono arrivato ad ottenere dei risultati soddisfacenti. Nel complesso molto cara (sim800l costa un terzo ed ha le stesse funzionalità) e le saldature non sono delle migliori. In ultimo, ma per il mio progetto non era determinante visto l'utilizzo di un micro standalone, non è direttamente inseribile sopra la scheda Arduino Uno (o simili), a meno che non si saldino dei pin aggiuntivi nei fori a lato dei connettori strip (non testato).
