After returning other voice recorders, this one is a keeper! So tiny and yet offers everything it says. Yes, there is a learning curve, but it does everything it says. So I am very happy to give a very strong and positive endorsement for this little joy. The choices the product offers are thoughtfully worked out ... from voice activation to true variable speed playback. The only downside was that when recording from a microphone placed a couple of feet away from the sound source, the playback was tinny, metallic in quality. But, when I selected input as "line in" so I could record directly from my Ipad, and played it back via the provided and very comfortable earbuds, the sound quality became quite acceptable. Very acceptable. My reason for buying a voice recorder was primarily for the variable speed playback. At 82 my biggest complaint has become the speed at which people speak these days. And, to be truthful about it, for seniors, the rate of even normal speech can be critical to comprehending conversations. So I am so happy about this truly wonderful product. I also like the way the company really goes out of their way to encourage the buyer to contact them with any questions or difficulties. I also appreciated Amazon's generous return policies on the other unsuitable products.

This little recorder is quite the workhorse. It can record for hours and barely put a dent on the battery nor the memory. I highly recommend this voice recorder. It’s small too which means you can potentially conceal it.

It works well, once you figure out how to use it.

Slim in size but powerful chipset gives this digital voice recorder a crisp sound quality for capturing vocals, podcasts or live meetings using the built-in microphone. It works best around 10 to 15 inches for voice but has long range nearly 30ft in lecture halls once I disabled the software background noise reduction and set gain sensitivity to maximum in settings.// ChipsetCapacity is massive for audio at 128GB eMMC for thousands of hours using MP3 low bit rate 128kbps compressed option or in high bitrate capture mode of WAV output of 1536kbps does fill up much quicker. Both modes aren't lossless but perform equally crisp in their audio capture distance and have low band noise filtered without background hum or static noise common on microphones. On its inside the recorder has a low power embedded chipset with an 1100 mAh lithium polymer battery taking me nearly 6 hours to fully charge at 500 mA input current over USB Type C. Keeping the screen backlight at minimum and capturing in MP3 mode gave me a runtime of nearly 12 hours of battery which is excellent for such a compact linear recorder.// Build QualityIt feels solidly built holding it up because of the heavy zinc unibody design in a brushed metal appearance and takes up limited space at a slim 10.5 cm long, 3 cm wide and 1cm depth size. Buttons are dampened clicky switches which can be heard in recordings using its built-in microphone and rather wobbly to press. It does takes some practice to navigate the complex long press menu system in the LCD screen.// MicrophoneSound quality is tuned to mid-high range spectrum picking up birds chirping or talking clearly. This also means it inadvertently captures button presses and simply putting the recorder down on a table because the microphone is built-in and on top above the screen. While the microphone isn't up to par with professional studio recording equipment, it's awesome for compact folly artistry, capturing meetings or podcasts when travelling. Sound is pre-calibrated to vocal range picking up speech and dialogue even at distances over 20 to 25ft away. It takes a few experiments adjusting settings up/down to optimize input like disabling the AVR and noise reduction to prevent recordings from clipping and get it working properly. As a field recorder, it's DAC is limited in compatibility to using Line In from external Microphones that are self powered and provide a standard 3.5mm jack auxiliary interface with 2 pin separator. The input doesn't have any power to use lavalier or other kinds of external mics.// Music Player ModeWhat I found quite useful was how its large built-in 128GB capacity can also be used like an external flash drive to turn this recorder into an audiophile MP3 player having equalizers and lossless FLAC playback capability for listening to music on the go.// EarbudsMatching pair of IEMs also similarly tuned to this recorders internal microphone as they reduce bass using single dynamic driver with an open back earbud design because of a 1.5mm pinhole giving it a feeling of a wider sound stage.Even though in-ear headphones lack an inline microphone which can make the digital recorder more versatile, its because the Line In simply doesn't work with external microphones as I expected. It picks up sounds from output devices like plugging into a laptop, smartphone or tablet seamlessly. One missing feature is having voice to text transcription or digital translator capability since using this to record lectures which can run for several hours means I still have to manually playback sound capture only without any text.Overall its a powerful 1536kbps bitrate digital recorder capturing audio from built-in wide microphone or line input sources clearly and flexible enough to use in music player mode.
