We've ordered this twice so far to use for a corn snake enclosure. We mix it up with coconut fiber for substrate. The coconut is a bit rough, so we mix in this sphagnum moss and add it around the surface for a softer texture and variety for the snek's enrichment. It's clearly pure sphagnum moss, no junk, nothing smells off, it's all good. Our young snake is healthy and happy rolling around in it.

I bought it mostly to root plants, I've been able to root roses, and trees in it. The great thing is it's reusable. Also, it expands a lot. Was much cheaper than the local pet smart. It also seems that you can grow this, so who knows, maybe you can make your own moss using it.Would recommend!

I actually got this to use with my plants. Spaghnum moss works great as a top layer and also mixed into the soil for moisture retention. I also use it for moss poles for my climbers and it's a perfect planting medium for my Orchids.This Begeterday Sphagnum Moss arrived in a nice compressed brick inside a plastic bag. It's easy to break off pieces of the dry compressed moss as needed and to just store the rest, though to note, the original bag is not resealable, which is a bit inconvenient.The moss expands instantly when re-hydrated and you get quite a bit of volume. You can see from my pic how much a small piece expands. It appears to be very good quality pure Spaghnum Moss with no other debris mixed into it. The moss itself absorbs and retains moisture well.Overall compared to the price of good Spaghnum Moss you find at a nursery, I would say the Begeterday moss is a good deal and the quality is solid.
