I tried to use the pliers but they didn't work very well. The problem was the pins at the end of the pliers were not formed very well. I had to file them down so they would fit the snap rings that came with the set.

The snap ring pliers work well. I used them in miserable, hard to reach locations and had no problems gripping the snap rings.Some of the pins on the tips that go into the snap rings were a bit rough and couldn't easily slip into the holes of the snap rings. This was an easy fix with a piece of emery cloth.Kit of snap rings was a great addition.Perfect tool for the odd job. I'd stick with a better brand if you plan on using it often.
