I use this plugged into my DLSR for better sound when recording video. It's infinitely better than the built-in mic and I get MUCH less wind noise. It's worth every penny as an external DSLR mic.

I was keen to see how this microphone would work with my compact camera (Canon G7X iii). The onboard microphone is fine in most circumstances but does suffer hugely from wind noise. I was hoping for an improvement in that and hopefully better sound quality.In the end the sound quality is better but not by as much as I hoped. It is still perfectly good so maybe my expectations for this microphone were a shade too high. The windshield definitely makes a difference although it doesn't eliminate all wind noise but maybe that's a bit too much to expect from a 20 quid mic'.So overall I am quite happy with it in terms of sound quality and its wind noise reduction. However, I do have a small niggle about how it stays in place. It fits into a 3.5mm jack socket on the left side of my camera and seems quite securely held there but because it's a round plug fitting into a round hole it rotates at the slightest touch. It did annoy me a bit as I felt I was constantly re-positioning it. Having said that it still worked well and I have to remember that it is not an expensive microphone but one that improves a bit on what is already built in.It is small, lightweight and very easy to use - just plug it in. The fact that it is connected via a 3.5mm jack means it provides wide ranging compatibility and versatility for a good price. Despite my moan about it moving out of position I am still happy to award 5 stars.

A small plug in omnidirectional microphone that can be plugged into a Rode or DJI wireless microphone for a handheld microphone when doing interviews as content creators. Having a handheld microphone option can reduce the possibility of getting handling noise in your audio. That's a good thing. Recommended for that use.

This is a good mic to have in your bag if you are doing an interview. It sounds good and looks better than just sticking your DJI mic in their face.
