It saved me a huge amount of time and frustration and aggravation (and some very bad words!) and now I've successfully hard-wired in the the accessory I was fitting.Ah! The relief and satisfaction of doing it right with all the right fuses!

If like me, you are not sure of which size fuse you need to tap into for a dash cam install then this is the perfect kit. It has multiple of each type so you can rest assured you have the correct one for your install.Easy to install just put the original fuse in the bottom slot and the fuse for the new device in the top slot. The leg of the fuse farthest away from the wire should be installed on the supply side (Left side if the fuses are facing towards you, with the wire on right). Please don't tap into any devices that are important (air bags, power steering etc).

At the time of buying, there were several very similar packages and these were the cheapest. Four common fuse styles are included, with three fuse taps and four spare 7.5A fuses for each size. The profile is about as low as you'll get without having an inline fuse further up the tap, and though it is bulky it's low enough for the application I wanted – adding a Thinkware dashcam to a Mazda RX-8 with proper switched and permanent feed, enabling the parking mode. That involves tapping into the fusebox in the footwell, where fuse 3 offers an accessory switched feed and fuse 11 (if I remember right!) a permanent feed. There's not much clearance for the fuse cover, but there's plenty of room behind for the cable. The fuses are designed logically, with dual circuit protection (your original circuit remains on the rated fuse, the new tap comes from the 12V side into the fusebox and has its own fuse - in this case the 7.5A in the packet - which sits 'above' the original fuse in the holder and in line with the pigtail wire). The crimps worked well despite being asked to grip a much smaller gauge of wire and everything feels secure and safe. Very straightforward, non-destructive and no issues of poor connection or overloaded main circuits when installed.Three holders for each fuse size means plenty of flexibility if you're adding a few devices.A neat alternative to damaging your wiring with scotchlok or similar connections and very good value.
