I received this product through Amazon Vine.I am so disappointed with this item and upset with the tricky wording used on this page describing this cross! Yes, it's pretty and definitely usable. But the page describes this cross as being "wooden", being a "brown" color and "having high-quality materials for lasting beauty and spiritual significance". This is a pretty little cross that is made out of some type of plastic material that has the appearance of wood. The crucifix is metal, as far as I can tell which surprised me since the rest was plastic. If this cross were actually made of wood it would definitely be worth the pricing of this item. But since it's not, I consider this cross to be over priced.

As a devout cradle-Catholic and lay member of a religious Order, I would have believed myself to have at least a passing familiarity with most of the sacramentals out there. Prior to seeing this on Amazon, however, I had never before encountered a Pardon Crucifix. I immediately set out to read all I could on its history, and it's quite fascinating!This particular Pardon Crucifix hails from Italy and is beautifully crafted of wood. The detailing is exquisite, and I love the tangible reminder of mercy: that of the Lord towards us, but also of our responsibility to extend mercy and forgiveness to all of those within whose orbit we have been placed. The marian symbol on the reverse is a potent nod to Mary as she remained at the foot of her Son's cross.The perfect size for carrying in one's pocket or handbag, this also has a drilled hole at the top for hanging or wearing. It would make an extraordinary and most welcome gift for any Catholic--especially to mark the reception of one of the sacraments or as part of a Lenten preparation. Highly recommended!
