I think its strong enough for the task, so I'm giving it 4 stars. But it would be nearly free to tweak it so its much stronger. There is a single screw and a small plastic hinge that hold the box cover on/closed. That single screw and plastic hinge also support the full weight of the camera. That single screw is in plastic, so its holding power isn't that great. If they put another 2 or 3 screws around the edge of the cover, it would be much more secure and the hinge would be irrelevant on the holding strength. That's my only complaint. There's a curious slot opening at the bottom/back. There's nothing bad about it. It just seems deliberate but I don't know why its there. Both photos I took to show the slot. If installed on a flat wall, the slot will be covered. So it's not a concern for letting bugs in. The slot is not for water drainage because there's a ridge around the slot on the inside. So if water got in the box, it can't escape through that slot. Drainage won't be a problem though. Since there's no gasket, water can easily escape between the box & front cover. I just don't see a reason for why the slot is made like that.Of the 3 rubber plugs in it, only one doesn't have a hole in it for a wire. That should be ok for everyone. The camera covers one of the holes, so if you want a rubber grommet there you'll be using one with a hole. You will either have wires enter through the back or the bottom. So which ever one you don't have wires passing through can have the rubber grommet without a hole. You'll want to do that so insects don't move in.Overall, I like it. Its very flexible. For the cost of 2 or 3 screws added to the cover, they could have made it hold a camera much more securely. But as it is, its ok.

Features: - 3 ports for wires, with 2 rubber plugs that allow wires and one that is just a solid stopper - Multiple camera mounting screw locations - Adhesive-backed drilling templates - Molded wire channels on the bottom As mentioned in other reviews there is a large rectangular open hole below the hinge which would allow in moisture, insects, etc. However I do not think this box is intended to be waterproof or "sealed" in the first place. Since this hole will be pressed against whatever surface the box is mounted to I don't think this really compromises anything. The rubber port plugs seem to be more of a strain-relief than a watertight seal as well. They fit the power/network cable on my camera snugly. I am using these for some Reolink 820A cameras and I was able to coil the camera's 12-18" cord entirely inside the junction box. However there was no pattern of screw holes that I could match up to this particular camera. Probably screwing right into the plastic cover will be fine. The mounting holes were all labelled but I didn't find any documentation specifying all the various dimensions, so the labels weren't actually useful. The diameter of this camera is just about the same as the box, which seemed fine. Since the box is black no one is going to see any details from 1-2 stories below regardless. The packaging had a QR code for an app, but this seems to be for a related brand of cameras and nothing to do with the junction boxes in particular. Time will tell how these will hold up in an outdoor location (under my soffits / eaves) but so far they seem adequately sturdy.

This is a great set of compact junction boxes. These made the process of mounting our outdoor floodlights streamlined and flawless. The boxes can be screwed directly to the surface/house using the hinge in the bottom position to make for easy installation. The rubber grommets fit snuggly in the box having a hole in the middle to pass through the electrical wires. Just connect the wires inside the box and seal up the box with a screw to stow away the junction and any leftover wire. The light can be mounted on the other half of the box and easily connected onto the mounted half to complete the set-up. Overall these were easy to work with, they have everything needed for a clean install, and a set of four is perfect to cover each corner of your house or any other projects you apply them to. We created a set of outdoor scones with these boxes and an extension cord as our entry door wasn't wired for lights. We were glad to come across these as we hadn't known they existed. The other two boxes were used on the soffit to weatherproof and cover the security light/camera set-ups on two corners of the house. We will buy another set of these when the need arises and we're glad to have these which solved the wall sconce issue we had no solution for previously. Four thumbs up.
