Why gm put the "anticlick washer" dead in line with the speed sensor on the Volt I'll never know. Their own solution, after the washer beaks and destroys the sensor (causing all kinds of faults with abs and Regen braking) is to disassemble axle shaft down to hub, remove the washer, and throw it away. Yeah, not replace it, just get rid of it. I was glad to find that the speed sensor isn't too expensive. Still, if you have a Volt, I'd just dispose of the washer between the unit bearing hub and half shaft BEFORE it breaks, because eventually it will, and it'll kill the speed sensor. But if you do wait, this is the part you need. (You'll need to put car in service mode to clear the codes after repair if you wait til you have to replace the sensor)
