I wanted to get a wavemaker mainly to improve circulation in my tank as I had noted some dead spots.First of all, this was very easy to install - the cables detach from the control panel meaning it was easy to fish from the power supply underneath the tank up to the front left of the tank without any visible wires. Some products despite being designed for a large aquarium have came with ridiculously short cables, so this was an immediate plus.Upon setup, although I didn’t really buy this to create waves on top, I was quite impressed by the flexibility of this and the customisation I could do. As you can imagine I have naturally ended up moving this around several times to try different positions in the tank, and the magnet makes this really easy to place almost anywhere.The only negative I had is the light sensor - unless I have the control panel facing the tank, the rest of the room tends to be fairly dark in the evening as we use lamps for soft lighting, therefore this doesn’t really work for us, but in fairness there’s no harm having this on all the time for our tank.If you use one of these for the first time, the first thing you will notice is the sheer amount of debris it will kick up from around the tank - this for me was a good indication of this working, and after a few moments the filter had swallowed this up. Most of the time I now have crystal clear water as a result 🙂Really pleased with this purchase and would recommend to anyone else looking to increase circulation in their tank

Eindrücke und Funktionen:Die Pumpe bietet eine Vielzahl an wählbaren Betriebsmodi, was in dieser Preiskategorie durchaus üblich ist und eine gewisse Flexibilität in der Anwendung ermöglicht.Leistung und Geräuschentwicklung:Die erbrachte Leistung der Pumpe kann als gut bewertet werden. Allerdings ist anzumerken, dass der Betrieb mit einer deutlichen Geräuschentwicklung einhergeht, was je nach Einsatzort und persönlicher Empfindlichkeit als störend empfunden werden könnte.Kritikpunkte:Ein Aspekt, der im Test negativ aufgefallen ist, betrifft die Sensorik und Steuerung. Während ein Lichtsensor vorhanden ist, der möglicherweise zur Erkennung der Umgebungshelligkeit dient, fehlt ein integrierter Timer vollständig. Dies hat zur Folge, dass das Bedienteil zwingend außerhalb eines geschlossenen Schranks oder einer ähnlichen Umhausung platziert werden muss, um die Nachtabschaltungsfunktion nutzen zu können. Eine Unterbringung im Schrank würde die Funktion der lichtabhängigen Nachtabschaltung verhindern.Des Weiteren ist eine separate Taste zur Unterbrechung während der Fütterung vorhanden. Die Sinnhaftigkeit dieser Funktion erscheint jedoch fraglich, insbesondere im Hinblick auf den beworbenen Einsatz als Pumpe, die typischerweise in automatisierten Systemen wie Futterautomaten zum Einsatz kommt. Wenn man sich nicht vor Ort befindet, um die Taste zu betätigen, verliert diese Funktion ihren praktischen Nutzen.Gesamteindruck:Zusammenfassend lässt sich festhalten, dass die Pumpe zwar eine bemerkenswerte Leistung erbringt und somit ihren primären Zweck erfüllt. Allerdings bestehen in Bezug auf die Benutzerfreundlichkeit und die durchdachte Integration von Funktionen noch Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten. Das Fehlen eines Timers in Kombination mit der Abhängigkeit des Lichtsensors von der direkten Umgebungsluminosität schränkt die Flexibilität bei der Installation des Bedienteils ein. Die separate Unterbrechungstaste erscheint in Anbetracht des wahrscheinlichen Einsatzszenarios nicht vollständig durchdacht.

Was getting so fed up of the wavemakers that attach to the glass with the suction cups - they just don't hold up and you end up having to try and fix the suction cup attachment all the time. Opted for this one... although more pricey than others it is definitely worth the extra cost. Magnet is strong and holds in place perfectly. Lots of different modes available for different wave types etc. I have a 550l 5ft tank and it creates waves perfectly and you can see the water circulation is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

A nice bit of kit with plenty of adjustment.It does take a bit of setting up, and despite this being the smaller 10W version, it's a bit of a balancing act in getting the pattern/effect you want without kicking up or uprooting bits and bobs you have carefully placed in the tank. There's also the fact that you don't want to stress out the fish.I've actually taken this back out of the tank and placed it in a large souse vide container, where I can have good play around with it to see exactly what each mode does, without messing up a carefully set up tank.It's a good piece of equipment, no doubt about it, and I do look forward to getting it up and running in its' proper place... after a bit of practice!.On a quality/value-for-money basis... 4-Stars.
