This works well, slides under laces easily, and is well shaped to get a good grip with the hand. The only two negatives are that it's a little stiff to open up (the space is too small to get a finger under, and it's hard to open by hooking with a fingernail), and it would be nice if there were a hole through it to put a string or cord to clip it to my bag.

Life saver. Or should I say finger saver. I have arthritis so this helped tremendously. Those skates need to be tight and I was able to do so without pain.
