Light weight, holds edge well and easy to resharpen. I have a formal, classic theme to my yard with lots of trimmed hedges and shrubs and use this hedger almost every week. By far the best one I've tried. I made a little sharpening jig to hold the removable blades which also works well to keep it nice and sharp. I opted for the longer one which is only about an inch longer and quite a bit more expensive as I recall, but it's been worth it. I would prefer it to be a little longer still, but over all I'm very happy with it, and I've been using it now for two plus years or so. Highly recommend it.

These are so light and comfortable to work with, they become an extension of your arms. They retain their edge and rarely need sharpening, excellent steel. The weight and balance of how they feel in your grip is so much better than traditional shears, and allows you to expend your energy on shearing instead of handling the shears. You will enjoy trimming and will walk away without muscle fatigue or knots in your neck. Highly recommend these-you will pass these along to your children.

This ARS 24 1/2 inch hedge shears fills a void I once had. It is somewhere between a lopper and a true hedge clipper. It is extremely light weight and very sharp. I am very impressed so far with the craftsmanship; the quality reminds me of my Felco hand clippers.I have a plant that has tough sword-shaped leaves that had been hard to trim. I would whack and whack at the plant with sharp shears but wouldn't completely cut it. Not anymore! The sharpness and reach of these shears made the job easy.Its lightness makes it very easy to use at all angles.

What a disappointment! Prior reviews held much praise for the quality and construction of these shears. Sure the blades are sharp but that is of little consequence if your knuckles smash together each and every time the handles fully close. The aluminum handles bend quite easily too. Spend your $80.00 elsewhere... these shears will be returned.

I bought these mainly to cut back my deer grass in the Spring. These decorative grass clumps are very tough and thick. I was barely able to cut them with one hand grass shears. It was still difficult with these hedge shears but very doable. I also used them to cut big weeds and two feet tall grass that had been let go way too long in the backyard. In places where bunch grass was too hard to use my string trimmer I easily cut it with the hedge shears. It seems to work well on any branches a half inch or less thick, too.These shears are lightweight and a pleasure to use. They are relatively expensive but well worth the price.
