The pump does a great job of filling my fat tire tubes at 4.0 inches. The main thing I don't like about this pump is the limited amount of space I have to grip the stationary portion of the pump around the valve head. I'm quickly reminded as soon as I pinch a finger or hand on a full stroke just how little space there is. It pumps smooth and fast but I don't think I'd buy it again. Why five stars? Because it actually does fill a tire like a pump is supposed to do.
