Considering the amount charged and knowing that this package was being sent to the UK, no attempt was made to protect the contents. The original packaging is a simple, thin-card window pack and it was sent in an ordinary plastic bag with no padding or protection. This is a gift for my wife and you can see the state in which it has arrived. Luckily the product itself is undamaged as far as I can see.As for the product itself, until my wife receives it for Christmas, I can't test it out but first thoughts are that it is a simple blade mounted in the bottom of a thin metal cup that contains the chocolate pieces. This fits into a simple pot, against which the blade flakes the chocolate. It doesn't look very robust and seems overpriced for what it is.

I tried to buy a chocolate flaker/shaver thing for the tops of fancy coffees.This is a glorified pen cup. Sadly it does not work as it does nothing at all. The copper "shaver" just grinds up against the chocolate and produces dust? or nothing?I'll keep looking. I recommend you do too.

Terrible, and difficult to use. Unfortunately it requires an inordinate amount of force, and don’t fill it very much, and also watch how you fill it or else it just scrapes the top of a slab, and not to mention if you press down hard enough it’ll push the metal flap that ‘shaves’ it, rendering it useless til you bend it back. Not worth the hassle

Like like the simplicity of the way it works. It has some nice touches like the built in cross bar to prevent the chocolate from just spinning in the cup.

i love this. you put any chocolate, even chips, in the cup, the twist the top. great chocolate curls come up, dump them out as you go along... great in icecream, yogurt, over hot chocolate... easy to clean, easy to use.
