Used for my trolling motor ram mount. Ball broke right off while offshore the other day. Haven’t had it 3 months….

I ordered this to use as an additional mounting point for my RAM mount Brother PJ-722 printer. My patrol car doesn't have a whole lot of space in it, so when I have a trainee, I have to move my printer around. This is a nice rugged attachment point that I can use to temporarily swap the mount around. It keeps things where they need to be.

I like the quality of this item. It will work well with a RAM mount arm. I needed it for mounting a GPS/Plotter on a boat and I found the smaller ball mounts to be weak and they would fall over. 1.5 is a great size.

This Ball Mount Base is a good example of my compliment for typical parts that I use in my beginning CADD Classes. I find it helpful to have the students touch and feel the parts. Next I ask them to reverse engineer the part by taking direct measurements from the part(s) and then draw them in CADD. This part is particularly interesting because it consists of an assembly and a subassembly. The ball is over molded (subassembly) and then assembled using a fasteners. In my CADD classes I have always found it helpful to hold the part in your hands.
