A few years ago I found ball-joint components like this and bought complete sets that were expensive but worth it. Now these devices have been made by many different companies, and they're not so expensive anymore. 1 inch is strong enough for my purposes, and this industry-wide standardization seems to be good for everybody. They're interchangeable, so you can buy with confidence knowing they'll fit and perform. One thing I change on these is the tension knob, from that flat design to one that allows a better grip and easier tightening. These double-ball joints are useful in many different applications, and I'm always finding new ways to use them, from camera stands to animation and stop-motion, holding without any additional motion at any angle is really excellent!

Great Quality – Super Tight Secure Solid Grip – medium length where needed This is a super high quality composite double swivel ball mount. You only get the double ball holder itself. You do not get any type of the standard one inch B size balls. You order the balls with the custom needs you have. This is a medium long clamp where you need a particular length clamp. Ahem, the word “medium” is not stringently defined in ball mounts. These composite mounts are longer than so called “medium” length aluminum alloy mounts. This clamp is very well designed with high Quality Control production. It has internal springs inside the two clamp halves to help keep it together when loose and positioning. It has a “thrust” washer on the Thumb Nut Wing Nut to make for smooth tightening twisting. I have decided to go with this brand, as I expand my clamp needs, because of its superior quality. I buy a lot of 1” Ball mount products from this company.
