mine arrived a bit deformed, like it was in the heat for a bit too long. it was stuck to the cardboard underneath, would have been nice if the manufacturer placed the "tape" between two plastic sheets. i keep utilizing "tape" in quotes because it is really like a strip of sticky playdough in tape form. you are able to cut off a section and mold it to your desired shape. handling it does reduce it adhesion as would dust and debris. the description is not wrong, it will stick to any surface so long as it is dry. water does not seem to affect it after it is applied. i would not rely on this as adhesive as the description states, it is a sealant even though they call it a tape. the only worry i have is that is stays sticky even after exposed to the air. i can see this attracting pollen and other airborne debris discoloring it. will wait and see this summer.

This butyl tape is ideal for sealing seams in vehicle chassis and around doors. It will seal most cracks up to one inch in width and the thermoelastic material is waterproof and freeze proof. The tape is easy to shape and mold to fit about any situation. I used this tape to seal the entire trunk area of a vehicle that I was preparing to paint. Good Stuff!
