Quality pieces, they feel great, and they fill the right area that you want them to, but the frame/edges are a bit too wide. The could be made a bit thinner and be easier to use on a map/board, but these still get the rough job done.

My husband DMs every Wednesday at school (gaming club). He just started a gaming session with a couple of kids who have never played d&d before. These spell zones are a perfect visual for both new and experienced players. They are well made. My husband verified that they fit in a standard d&d grid. He is super pleased.

Sometimes when running a complex battle in your game, it's hard to keep track of who's had what done to them, what areas are affected by a spell, etc. Kits like these make life so much easier. That barbarian wants to know if something's within Cleave range? There's a template for that. Wizard needs to see what would be affected by their Cone of Cold? There's a template for that! Rogue threw down a vial of Oil of Slipperiness and you want to mark what 10x10 square is affected? Guess what. There's a template for that, too. Combine this with a kit of condition markers, and life just gets better.

If you play Dungeons and dragons, or any similar game, then sooner or later you will get to a point where is is ambiguous if a player or NPC is in range of some weapon or spell. So the idea is simple just create custom rulers that exactly show the area affected by those.Nice idea but it doesn't work in practice. If character pieces fit entirely within the zone there is no problem but there would also be no question about the result. If they are on the boundary then you can't pit this down on top of them so you end up holding it above the characters and then whether a character is in or out of range depends on which side of the table you look from; is that goblin at top right inside the circle? from my line of sight yes, from the other side of the table no!So we ended up just going back to a printout of the area affected rather than using these.Nice idea in principle, fails in use.
