I picked this up after seeing what I assume was the Gen 1 version — the kind that just flips out to the side and holds your phone. That worked, but this version is clearly an upgrade. The CloudValley Gen 2 has two pivot points so you can actually angle your phone toward your face, not just have it sitting off to the side. It’s a small design tweak that makes a big difference in usability.Build quality is impressive. It’s sturdy and stiff, made from lightweight aluminum alloy, and doesn’t feel cheap at all. The magnets are strong enough to hold my iPhone securely in place, even with a case. It comes with a couple of metal rings too, so you can use it with non-MagSafe phones — nice touch.Installation is simple: peel off the 3M sticker, stick it to the back of your laptop or monitor, and you’re good to go. The rotating arm tucks away when not in use, which is great for portability.Pros:Feels like a Gen 2 upgrade with two rotation pointsStrong magnet and solid constructionWorks with iPhones, Androids, and even on a Tesla screenSuper compact and travel-friendlyCons:Be smart about where you stick it. If your laptop screen is weak (MacBook Airs, older cheap models), the added phone weight might pull it down. That’s not the mount’s fault — that’s physics.Bottom line: if you want a sleek, functional phone holder for multitasking, this one’s a winner. Just make sure your screen isn’t held up with hopes and prayers before blaming the product.

When I opened this up to show my wife, her first reaction was, "What are you going to do with that?"Let me tell you what I've done with it. I've used this for various Zoom meetings for the past couple of weeks, and it has been great! Installation was easy; just be sure to have the arrow on the back of the device pointing up before you stick it to your laptop. The arm has an elbow to it so you can tilt the phone in, and the phone holder plate rotates so the phone can either face you or away from you and use the rear camera.

This is a nice set and works with phones that already support Magsafe, as well as those that do not thanks to the converter rings supplied. My phone doesn't natively support Magsafe, so I was glad of the metal rings, and there are two so I can convert both my phone case as well as the phone itself. The mount itself feels sturdy and is made of metal. There are two "articulation" points, which seem to consist of a metal pin in the two hinge joints, one half way along and the other by the magnetic phone-holding end ring. These joints are quite stiff, at least when they are new, meaning they hold their position well and do not droop over time. The sticky attachment end rotates, but you need to undo the screw first, align it how you want, and then reattach the screw. They say you need to ensure the sticky end is attached with the little arrow pointing upwards (I am not sure why), and this is primarily what the screw here is for: to get that angle right. The magnet seems pretty strong and it holds my phone in place well. Along with the holder itself, this set includes two Magsafe converter rings, a spare 3M sticky pad if you need that, four wipe sachets for cleaning surfaces prior to sticking things down (see photo), and also two transparent circles (I'm not sure what these are for). The whole mount is quite compact, as is the box it all arrives in.As long as this type of mount is what you are looking for (i.e., something to stick permanently to the back of a suitable support so you can then attach your phone, or anything else you've stuck a converter ring to) then this is a neat little set. This won't be suitable for all situations, though, so consider also other mounts for attaching to car vents, desk mounts, etc., if that is what you need.

Erfüllt also den Zweck.
