This review is for the 6-cup pot. I am using an electric stove.I am usually a tea drinker, but want a cup of coffee once in a while. I remember making my dad's coffee in a pot like this when I was a kid. I cannot stand plastic and just cringe when I think about how long I used a Mr. Coffee back when I drank coffee every day. Most of the pots like this have poly-something-or-other for the clear top, but not this one. It's glass! Zero plastic or aluminum on this little baby. Yay!Having read a bunch of reviews before I ordered it, I just can't understand what some people were talking about. The lid does *not* drop into the pot, with or without the basket in place. I had no problem with the handle being too hot, although I did make sure to leave the pot off to the side of the burner so that the handle was not right over the heat. To me, that's just common sense. It is super sturdy with a nice weight to it. I didn't use any filter and the grounds are very minimal in the finished cup. That was using regular grind, not course ground. It's not an issue for me at all. The pot makes excellent coffee. The only distraction for me is that it is made in China, but I guess that's a different discussion. Thank you to the veterans at Coletti for their service to our country.

Love this percolator! I have the 6 cup. It makes 2 large cups when filled just below the pour spout holes, perfect for just me. Appears well made, have only used once but feels like it will hold up well. I took a mesh French Press filter and used an exacto knife to cut out the center washer and it fit perfect for additional filtering, no grounds at all in my coffee. The paper filters will remove the oils but the oils do not bother me. Be sure to have flame on low, should never extend out to edges of pot bottom. Don’t forget to time it as soon as it starts to perc. I throw a towel over the pot while I drink my first cup to keep it warm. Great cup of coffee, easy for home or camp!

The Coletti Bozeman 6 Cup percolator makes fantastic coffee. The internet said to use medium-coarse ground coffee and medium heat for best results, and to brew for a maximum of seven minutes - otherwise the coffee gets more bitter the longer it brewsThat's what I did, and I didn't bother with the paper filters since they remove all the oils and tlavour from the coffee (though, apparently, some people like it that way). I used 500mls of water in, and four and a half heaped tablespoons of ground coffee. The coffee was much better, richer and more full-bodied than that from my Drip machine and from my Siphon machine. This percolator cost me A$39.95. The Drip machine costs just over twice as much as that, and the Siphon machine costs three to four times as much. The percolator was too slow on our induction stove, so I put it on an electric hot plate. One can see when it brews by water splashing into the top translucent knob. Start the timing from that point (I told Alexa to remind me). You don't actually have to stand there watching for the percolator to start splashing after the first use, as it makes a splashing noise which you will easily recognise from then on.In terms of coffee taste/strength, the coffee that this percolator makes is between that of Drip/Siphon machines and that from a Moka pot.If one likes all sorts of coffee types from different machines and methods, as I do, percolators like this Coletti one. should definitely not be overlooked.Regards.
