It was truly a great wine key but it cut me twice the first two times I used it and then the blade broke on the third time. The ratchet was very unique .

I think this is the best corkscrew I’ve ever used. The multiple stops are easy to use and have great leverage. This feels like a proper tool in your hand- I didn’t know what I was missing until I tried this one.My only slight negative is I think the foil cutter does not have an angle that lets it maximize the blade area. But the teeth on it are fantastic and it cleanly cuts foils. Even with this slight negative it’s still a 5 star product.Is it expensive? Yes. Is the quality worth the price? Yes. If you invest in nice glassware, a wine fridge, a decanter, those little polishing cloths, and routinely buy bottles over $45 then you should have this opener.

I must admit, using a corkscrew is not my strong suit. Getting it started isn’t bad but getting the last bit of the cork free is usually painful. That was until I got this little number!When I first opened it, it looked a bit complicated. In fact, I looked for the instructions. But, once I actually picked it up and compared it to my other corkscrews, it made sense.First thing I really liked was the knife to cut the foil on the neck of the bottle. It is not just a sharp knife, but it looks in place and it is curved perfectly to fit the neck. It slides naturally around the bottle to cut into the foil, cleanly and effortlessly.The corkscrew opens and goes into the bottle the same as most other ones, but the piece that goes into the top of the neck is where the magic happens.It has several notches on it that change the pool on the cork. You start with it on the first notch and the cork easily levers out of the bottle. For some shorter corks, it comes completely out. For the longer corks, you then move it to the next notch and re-lever the cork. This then pulls the remainder of the cork out of the bottle.To me, this is a big deal as I have a history of breaking the cork at this point. Once you have the cork out, you fold up the key and use the last notch to lock it into place so the key does not open accidentally in the drawer.I now feel comfortable and professional opening any bottle of wine that crosses my path. I highly recommend this Craig Hill best wine key !
