This is a de facto standard reel for Kokanee trolling in the PNW, as far as I can tell. Seen pretty much everyone around using it. Light, smooth and sturdy. Paired with 7.5' Daiwa North Coast Kokanee rod, 10lb mono (Izorline) gives you an excellent trolling setup. Check the Split Milt channel on Youtube for more info. Planning to try in in salt water later this year.

Looked like it should out of the box but had a few smudges, then when I spooled up some braid, I noticed a weird feeling, the resistance was not right. The spool and handle are not as easy spinning, and new feeling like it should be, not the drag, or other setting causing this, I tried.This is the 3rd one I've bought, I had to exchange because it was R hand and I needed L-handed.The one I received in exchange DOES NOT feel right, it feels stiff, refurbished, or used. As I've said I've purchased these before and I know what they feel like new.LOOK OUT when purchasing what should be great new reel out of the box because you could be getting something else....

Great reel. Caught a lot of fish on it so far however, there is a moisture issue with counter window - condensation forms on the inside of the counter window preventing a clear reading. That said, The counter works well though, no sticking reset button as with Okuma’s.
