This bag appears well made and will work fine if you use it for travel by car, private aircraft, or any travel method that subjects it to reasonable wear and tear. However, this bag should not be sold on Amazon or in any store without warning buyers that United Airlines lists this bag as “not approved.” I learned this expensive lesson the first time I flew this ski bag on United. The bag was packed with two pairs of skis, poles, and soft clothes around the bag. The bag was well packed and in good condition when checked. When I retrieved the bag at baggage claim, the corner of the bag was cut clear off at a 45 degree angle. It was obviously cut buy something sharp. I showed the damage to this new bag to the United agent. That agent told me that if that same cut had happened to another one of my bags, or a different ski bag, they would replace the bag-but that Dakine ski bags are “not up to United standards.” United Airlines told me that they do not honor claims for damage to Dakine ski bags or their contents. Had Dakine warned me of this fact, I would have purchased a different ski bag.

Bought the 175cm, and is such a useful and sturdy bag, which actual had enough room for my Volkl 177's, boots, helmet and ski gear for the week! Would recommend

This was a new purchase (because our growing family needs two ski bags, now) based on a previous one that we loved. In the interim period since we originally bought a ski bag from Dakine, the company has made numerous improvements, and one design change we wish they had not made. The bag now has external pockets, which allowed us to put items like ski straps and even tie downs for the ski bag. The wheels and superstrucute of he bag see more robust than the older version as well. The only caveat is that the older versions of this bag had interior elastic straps for poles to keep them separated from the skis. I hate this is not the case anymore. Nonetheless, this is a high quality ski bag, in general and for the price, and I would recommend it to anyone. Our previous Dakine (still in service) has been flying multiple annual trips for nearly a decade and is still going strong!
