Works as a sextant but my main disappointment is that all the markings on the scale marked in black rubbed off. Do not use this as a backup on a boat as the scale will rub off and it will be almost useless. I contacted the manufacturer and they were not very helpful. I had to re-apply the scale with a black sharpie. I was able to use it to get to within 30 miles of my actual location after a few tries using this device and the sun reflected from a large bowl and the scale marked again with the permanent marker.

E' un apparecchio estremamente economico (e non lo nasconde), ma che consentre di prendere confidenza con gli strumenti di navigazione astronomica. Sotto questo aspetto è eccezionale, credo insuperabile.Non ci si può aspettare di avere la precisione di un sestante professionale (che ha un costo di qualche zero più su), ma... provate ad immaginare di dare in mano a ragazzini di 15 anni un sestante da 2.000 euro !Comunque funziona esattamente per quello che promette.Ritengo indispensabile corredarlo con lo specifico manuale, stampato e venduto a parte.

Ca na pas la précision des sextants plus chers mais ce n'est pas le même outil non plus. Ce modele de sextant est destiné aux chaloupes de sauvetage ou à l'apprentissage par exemple.

El producto cumple exactamente lo que promete. Incluye el sextante y el manual de instrucciones.Si se busca un sextante de precisión no es la elección, pero si se busca un sextante de respeto o para aprender/enseñar; es la decisión correcta.El error especificado por el fabricante es de 2' (la separación entre marcas que tiene el propio instrumento). Las instrucciones vienen en inglés.

Simple y apropiado para practicar y como sextante de respeto. El objetivo conforme con el resto del instrumento, simple y efectivo.
