The press works very well, pushes out most of the garlic. The tube to remove the skin doesn't really work or this would be a five star.

The primary garlic press for our resident cook (RC) is a 30 yr old stainless steel device with removable screens. That type is hard to find, and possibly no longer made. It is still going strong. He has a lesser version stowed with the camping gear. I got this new garlic press for the alternate kitchen. Color choices are nice. RC and I like the rose gold color. He thought it was copper. No, just copper color.This one feels solid in my medium-sized hands. Rivet looks solid. A home test kit detected no lead. The included little rubber roller takes off the papery outer surface just like our older, larger rubber roller.What RC liked:Comfortable in his larger hands. Pins match up to holes, so the garlic doesn’t just get crushed against a flat plate. As with our other garlic presses, a fair amount of garlic squeezes past the press and gets caught behind the pressing plate.What our resident dishwasher (moi) liked: All one piece. I have already misplaced the included cleaning brush, so had to scrape the excess garlic out/off.Rating: goodMy scale: 5 star = excellent (or has a special feature), 4 star = good/ very good (does what it should). I rarely use the term ‘perfect.’

Much more durable than the plastic alternatives, this thing can mince garlic in a single squeeze. Its gone thru the dishwasher many times and hasn't rusted. So far so good! Only wish it wasn't so obnoxiously colored but I can live with it.
