Wanted to do something nice for my wife. We have a setup of three parallel lines measuring 19 feet each. All three have tensioners. In the past I have purchased standard cotton clothes line. It stretches , sags with weight, loses bulk and gets dirty. Installed a few weeks ago and today was its first trial. To be fair ,I have not adjusted the tension since the initial install. I probably would have but did not know my wife was going to be drying outside today. She hung the bed sheets and the lines sagged causing her to rely on an adjustable stabilizer pole that is specifically made for raising sagging clothes line....one puts it midway so the sheets etc. do not hit the ground. After she took the sheets down I again utilized the tensioners..The three lines had stretched more than I expected. So we will see as time goes on if they stabilize. I do know that they will be easy to keep clean. UPDATE: 04/24/23. I have tightened all 3 lines 3 times....so obviously they stretch. I think the stretch is becoming less and they seem to sag less. UPDATE..03/10/2024 This past fall my wife complained that the line was making marks on our sheets. Having retired from having a cleaning business for 34 years, I felt I was up to the challenge having a lot of left over products. So I first tried Krud Kutter.....dampened a paper towel and stroked the line. Dirt came off. Did that a couple of times and still my ppr twl came up dirty. ok...Then I tried bleach a couple of times ,still dirt, used 3M scrubbie pads with the cleaners....still dirt. Tried all purpose "Awesome"....Still dirt. Tried a hydrogen peroxide cleaner I had...still dirt, Tried a "soft scrub" type product. still dirt on my towel. I even got so desperate I used some 25% HCL toilet bowl cleaner. Dirt. Sooooo. Now i am going to order some clear poly tubing and encase this line by running this line through it and see how that fares. This is ridiculous.
