An inspection shows this cap is almost identical to the OEM part sold for $9.97 in the big-box store, which is an absurd price for a simple plastic part.The difference is in the 2 "legs" that go down into the head to attach the cap. The plastic is a bit thicker and you have to work a little harder to get the cap off for a line refill.I have to do a lot of trimming near sidewalks, driveways, and rock/stone edges. This causes these caps to fall apart when they accidentally scrape against the hard surfaces. I have 2 of these trimmers at different places, and use about 3 of these caps in a season. Paying less and getting a comparable part is a big win for me.

Thought this would be better than string at cutting larger grass stems. It wears down the blades very quickly and if it hits a hard stick it knocks it off the spindle

The price is great and works better than the blades and cap bought from our local garden center. I would recommend this instead of going to the company and paying more.
