Das Ziel unseres Programms "Fitness Training for Functional Aging" ist es, eine umfassende Kraft-, Gleichgewichts- und Beweglichkeitsroutine zu Hause zu bieten, die entwickelt wurde, um funktionale und praktische Kraft und Stabilität für Geschicklichkeit, Langlebigkeit und Vitalität aufzubauen. Dieses Programm beinhaltet zwei komplette Sitzungen:
Session #1 (30 Minuten):Die ABC-Routine (Agilität, Balance und Korrekturübung) Begleite Jessica und Debbie für diese Reihe von Beweglichkeits-, Gleichgewichts- und Korrekturübungen (ABC), die Ihnen helfen, Ihre Fähigkeiten zu verbessern und Bewegungen hinzuzufügen, die Sie bei Ihren traditionelleren Workouts möglicherweise nicht ausführen. Benötigte Ausrüstung: ein flaches, mittelstarkes Widerstandsband und ein Stuhl. (Wenn Sie können, versuchen Sie diese Sitzung barfuß für beste Ergebnisse). Bodenarbeit: keine Intensität: niedrig bis moderat.
Session #2 (30 Minuten): Functional Strength Join Jessica and Debbie for this total body strength workout based on the five primary movement patterns of the body. Diese fokussierte, grundlegende Routine bietet einen großartigen Ausgangspunkt für diejenigen, die neu im Widerstandstraining sind, oder eine hervorragende Möglichkeit, sich mit schwereren Gewichten aufzubürsten, für diejenigen mit mehr Krafttraining-Erfahrung. Both workouts are good. If you follow exactly what Jessica says you'll feel absolutely great. I like both 30 minute exercises. I do them on alternate days after a low impact workout. It's good to do the first one along with yoga.

I had a few walking dvd's from Jessica. I like Jessica but I found her workouts so boring that I couldn't focus on doing the workout. Lately the buzz words seem to be "active recovery" and "functional fitness". I'm sure everyone is going to come out with this type of workout, but trying to find one that''s good will probably be a challenge. I gave this a 5 for several reasons. Since I work out, this will be a "rest day" activity for me. I already do cardio and strength training. The ABC Routine is wonderful and most people should do it. The routine is broken down into 3 parts: agility, balance and corrective exercise. This workout is done in bare feet. I like that exercises for the feet and hands/fingers were included. I thought my balance was pretty good, but 2 of the exercises were a challenge. Jessica's mother, Debbie shows an easier version on some of the exercises. The Functional Strength is basic strength moves. I'm going to be 68 and it has come to the point that I have to do something everyday to help with stiffness/soreness. I can use this on a "rest" day but it's also a good starting point for someone getting back into workouts or just starting out. I would highly recommend this dvd.

About me: Mid life Intermediate exerciser, some health issuesThis review was written after completing the ABC workout on Fitness training for functional aging. I felt compelled to write my first ever workout review! I have not yet completed the second routine on this DVD: Functional strength. The ABC routine is another Jessica Smith success!I chose to buy this DVD because it looked like it had different movements to my current DVD workouts. I like variety and to work my body in different ways and patterns.I first tried this workout when I had recently finished nightshifts and needed a gentle movement type workout. I was a little concerned that it may tax my brain too much as I was looking for a "non thinking" workout that day. The DVD had just arrived in the post. I hesitated however decided to try the ABC routine. It did not tax my brain too much, it was perfect for me.It will definitely be added into my regular workout rotation. I try and include a mix of more intense and lighter exercise. This will be used on a light exercise day.I have a mix of cardio, strength and flexibility workouts. I ticked it off as a flexibility workout although I probably should have actually ticked it off as strength and cardio. I may do that next time. I may have to add a new category/s as I now have a few agility, balance or co-ordination type workouts.Some routines also contain a little bit of "brain training" as this one did. I appreciate that this is thought about when workouts are created. Fortunately it was the right amount of brain training for me that day (not too much).I love any workout that contain large, circular type arm movements. I always feel good afterwards. This workout included some nicely.I felt pleasantly energized after completing this session My back also felt freer. Thank you JS, another excellent routine!

This CD has all the things Jessica is known for: her enthusiastic teaching style, modifications for the more challenging moves, and a variety of exercises that make the half-hour move quickly. A great choice for those looking to restoring flexibility or maintaing it!

I have purchased many Jessica Smith videos over the years. I like this one because it contains both weight bearing and stretching exercises. If I have time, I do both sets, but each one by itself is a good workout. It helps if your name is Debbie, because Jessica encourages Debbie, her mother throughout the videos.
