Plugged it in and it worked. Coarse messed screen. Will not filter sand out however.

Our RV water pump was not holding pressure and cycling but we couldn't find a leak. Also, when on city water, water was back flowing into our fresh tank. I opened the water pump up and there was a bunch of plastic shavings stuck all throughout the valves, presumably from work that was recently done on our fresh water tank. After removing all the debris, the pump worked perfectly. I bought this filter to prevent this from happening again in the future.Super easy to install and no tools were required.As cheap as this item is, I absolutely believe it should be included with the pump, but it is not, so get one. You will be happy you did.

First I had to relocate my pump 3 feet to a spot under my RV bed I could actually reach without dislocating my shoulders! The strainer was simple to just plug into the waterline at the pump. Now I can easily winterize the RV and clean the strainer.
