I owned one of these Gerber’s from a store that was branded as a Bear Grylls knife. It was really great until the TSA confiscated it. I replaced it with this one purchased from Amazon. It was just as sharp, but very much unfortunately it opened TOO EASILY!! One time it opened while in my pocket and pricked my finger. Not good. It was recently also confiscated by TSA (I don’t blame them, I forgot to leave it in the car). Anyways, I might end up buying from a different Amazon store, or from a real live local store. Go Figure!! Haha.

I really liked the first one of these I bought. The carbon steel blade came, literally, razor sharp. It shaved the hair on my arm. The bolster was tight. It was a perfect knife for every day carry right up until I lost it.I ordered two more. Quality control is not this manufacturer's long suit. The next knife was as sharp as ever, but the bolster was really loose. I used the correct size and kind of tools to tighten the bolster, only to have the bolster nuts strip.These knives are like the girl in the nursery rhyme,"When they are good, they are very, very good. When they are bad, they are horrid."

Exactly what i needed. Small, unassuming and vicious. As soon as i opened the package i started slicing things up around the apartment. very sharp, watch your fingers. light weight, tight clip and blade. doesnt have that cheap looseness where the blade and handle meet.

I was looking for something to complement my existing Gerber Paraframe: I wanted something I'd be comfortable carrying daily (needed to be small to stay out of the way of other objects in my pocket), useful (easily sharpened), and easy to open. This simple, elegant knife meets all of those objectives.If you're used to semi-serrated blades, give this smooth blade a try, you'll be glad you did! I haven't tried to sharpen it yet, but with the smooth blade, I know it will be simpler to sharpen easily.

Die Klinge öffnet sich ziemlich schwergänagig - hatte ich auch schon bein anderen Messern von Gerber.Das Messer kann man nicht zerlegen, da die Schrauben so fest in die Griffschalen geklebt sind, dass man sie nicht lösen kann. So lässt sich das Problem mit der schwergängigen Klinge auch nicht lösen.Die Klinge ist scharf und hat wenig Spiel.Wenn einem die schwergängige Klinge nicht stört, ist das Messer für den Preis ganz ok - ansonsten Finger weg.
