I find the hip thrust exercise to be one of the most frustrating exercises. It is always a bit awkward rolling the bar on and off your legs, and uncomfortable pressure on the hips. This completely eliminates those issues. I also feel I can focus the weight better on my glutes. Best gym product I’ve purchased! Highly recommend!

I bought this for my wife, but now we keep sharing it on different workout days of the week. It takes a little getting used to, tightening yourself down to bar tight si the key, then just pop the buckle tongue to release it afterwards. Her being shorter than me, she uses a reebok step and a riser under her feet when using 45lb sized plates, so mostly she likes to use multiple 25lb sized plates. Neither of us do hip thrusts with a barbell on top anymore. The glutebuster is well made and is just more comfortable on the hips, so pushing past final reps or doing glute bridges definitely targets the glutes better.

First of all, I was sent the wrong color. I didn't wanna inconvenience myself of the return, so I just kept what I got. This belt is easy to use, is durable, comfortable, and effective. Beats putting the bar on your pelvis. I get an amazing workout with it. I was hesitant to purchase because of the price. After the first set... I had no regrets. Worth it!

This review is long overdue. In general I'm not someone to write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this review for the GluteBuster because of how much it has changed my life. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but it's true.I've been involved in combat sports such as MMA and BJJ for over 20 years, and prior to that I played rugby and football for several years. Needless to say, my body has been beaten up over and over, and much of that stress has been driven into my lower back. Working at a desk for several hours every day hasn't helped. As I've gotten older I've studied a great deal about the importance of the glutes when it comes to back health, athletic performance, and posture. They are the largest muscle group in our body and drive a great deal of human function. It's pretty well accepted that barbell hip thrusts are the most effective way to train the glutes. There isn't really an exercise that targets them so specifically. However, if you've done hip thrusts for any amount of time, you quickly realize that they have some fundamental flaws. The first of which is getting under the bar, and lifting from the bottom position in a safe fashion. Some of you youngsters out there might be wondering what the hell I'm talking about, but when you have a spine that is thrashed, the bottom position of a hip thrust can be a big problem, especially when you have to lift it out of the "hole" so to speak. The second problem is one my wife absolutely hates, and that's how the bar digs into the pelvis. Even with a big squat pad, when the weight gets heavy enough, traditional barbell hip thrusts can be very uncomfortable.I'm here to tell you that the GluteBuster changes ALL of that. This ingeniously designed device, in hindsight, looks like a no brainer. Basically, instead of the weight being on top of you, the weight is under you. The setup is super easy. You sit on the bar straight up and centered, while wearing the GluteBuster, and then you hook in. Tighten the strap, and you're ready to go.I'll admit, it took me about 4 to 5 times using it to really get into the groove and to start to see how big of a difference the GluteBuster makes. It's really incredible just how different hip thrusts are when using the GluteBuster. The contraction you feel in the glutes specifically is unlike any other glute exercise that I've done, and with absolutely NO pain at the lower back. This was a huge game changer for me.Since the weight is under you, you might be wondering if the range of motion is too short. I thought that in the beginning as well. I can tell you that when using 25 lb plates, or smaller diameter such as 10 lb plates, this is a non-issue. This is because the benefits of the hip thrust are actually most realized at the top of the movement, not at the bottom. And you'll notice that the contraction is much more intense when using the GluteBuster. It's really something that needs to be felt to understand what I mean.Currently I use the GluteBuster with 45 lb plates and have worked my way up to around 270 lbs for 4 sets of 12. What I do when using 45 lb plates is I put an aerobic step under my feet so my feet are slightly elevated. This gives me solid range of motion and allows me to load up big time. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll lift probably 15%-25% less weight with the GluteBuster than you will on a traditional barbell hip thrust. But it's a much more "honest" lift, it really targets and isolates your glutes like you've never felt.I still train BJJ several times a week and since using the GluteBuster religiously my back has felt great and my takedowns and such have been very explosive. If you're dealing with nagging back pain, hip pain, or if you want to improve your athletic performance and of course your backside, definitely get yourself a GluteBuster, you absolutely won't regret it.
