The flash works great! Great for portability. Definitely would recommend to any photographer.

This is a great flash and works at 1/512 in manual and with the X3 trigger. Waiting for mounting options as this is slightly larger than the previous model. Works with the H200R Round head. (listed in the instructions) Tight fit but works. Only marked down raiting until a mount is available for moderators.

Surprisingly this is the first AD200 system in my possession, so my review will be based on using my friends and in comparison to the Xplor 600 and V1 Pro which I do own. This flash has been a game changer in the event and wedding industry for a lot of my fellow photographer friends and I can see why. The power level is nice, the portability is great, and it's just a useful form factor as it's just a long speedlight that puts out a lot of power. Nothing has changed with the Pro II. It fits great in speedlight to Bowen converters if you want to use a softbox, beauty dish, or a reflector with a grid. You can also just keep it simple still and just use it with an umbrella or bare bulb. I love that you can bring it all the way down to 1/512 of a second to do some interesting open aperture flash shooting.Talking about adjusting it. I do have the X3c wireless trigger and the Ad200 Pro II literally just came out of the box ready to go. Just assigned it a channel and it was up and ready in seconds. Was able to adjust flash intensity, modeling light on/off/intensity, TTL/M/Multi, HSS without issues. Something I couldn't find the control of on the X3c was adjusting the color temp of the modelling light, which works pretty okay for what it is. It's respectable that it allows either Tungsten or Flash balance.Compared to the Xplor 600 (Adorama's rebrand of the AD600) the size difference between the 600 and the ad200 is night and day. While I love the Xplor 600, I found the ad200 works just as well for some sessions with the same modifiers. I think just the battery of the xplor is 75% the weight of the whole ad200 unit. The V1 Pro I will say is just different enough in usability and what it does that I suggest owning it and either a ad100, ad200, or adXXX+ along with it. The AD200 Pro II's extra build like the fan and all that really makes it feel more up to date than the V1 Pro, though I do like the USB-C charging port on the newer VB30 batteries. The WB29B Battery that comes with the AD200 still requires a spare charger on the side to charge the battery.Compared to the AD200 version 1, it looks like the upgrades are both for efficiency and some small performance improvements. Watching my friend at events and weddings he's popped hundred of shots off his Ad200 without issues so I can't say if this version is that much better, but testing it with full pops over a few shoots I had no issues. Sounds silly but I think the major change is probably going from a sliding on and off switch which could be randomly hit to going to the hold down then rotate the back on switch that's common in a lot of lights now. My buddy found his AD200 dying or close to dying way to many times because of him accidently hitting the power button. The case and spare head that comes with this is kit is great and works great. I like that it's a spare bulb and head so if you have an incident and the Fresnel portion stops working you can possibly change it to the bare bulb to at least keep shooting. It hits both that creative and professional redundancy box checkbox for me.I'm really impressed with this flash. I would assume David Hobby from Strobist would of also been head over heels about this flash if he isn't already. Not only does the flash work great and consistently, but it can go really low in power to be less obtrusive, to high enough in power to create some dramatically powerful lighting. It's a really capable and strong flash with a capable and strong wireless trigger system. It's pricey, but it works, and it's updated. If you have the original Ad200 it's probably not 100% a must get to upgrade to this. But if you are like me and never had a AD200 before and just use something like the AD600 but want to size down but still have a decent amount of kick, this is a GREAT flash.

I've been using the Godox AD200 for years and it has been a very dependable workhorse. It's powerful and compact enough that I keep two in my camera bag at all times. I shoot a lot of on-site portraits and I often shoot real estate photos with them. My only reservations about the unit have been addressed. I use the bare bulb head for the hair light in my headshots. A modeling light would've been nice and now, it has one. Secondly, the slide switch on the side of the previous units would sometimes be moved during travel and I'd find that the battery was low or depleted. Now, with the two-step power up process, that's no longer an issue. Lastly, the display on the rear of the unit was very dim and almost impossible to read in daylight which is where these units are often used. No more because they replaced the display with a very bright and easy to read display. I also bought the round flash heads as they give a nice, even light. They utilize the Godox magnetic modifiers and filters too. Using the round heads and the diffuser dome modifier in outdoor situation works as well, if not better, than using umbrellas. The domes won't catch the breezes like an umbrella would too. Kudos to Godox on a wonderful product made even better.

I have gotten into photography in the last few years, and have (for the past year or so) use the Neewer Q3 flash units, which are also 200W off camera flash. At the time, I couldn't afford the AD200 Pro (original) and a pair of the Q3's with some umbrellas meet my needs. However, as a number of paid circumstances have arisen to take both indoor and outdoor flash photography pictures, and with additional features of the AD200 Pro II, it is time to take a second look.To me, a few things that set the AD200 Pro apart from other off camera flashes are:1. The swappable head, including a bare bulb head2. The ultra low flash power option3. Great coolingFrom a usability perspective, this flash is great. You can use it quite rapidly if and when needed and it will keep up with minimal to no misfires. The fresnel head has been improved to minimize the amount of light spill from previous versions as well! The real reason I got this though, is the ability to use with the Godox S2 bracket, and enable the bare bulb to be used with a softbox and other bowens mount modifiers. This is fantastic, and couple with the bare bulb light really opens up some possibilities both playing around and modifying the light.A quick note on the menu... It's awesome. Love the look and feel! The ability to trigger this from my Godox V1 Pro is also nice, as I can toggle between using my on camera flash and off camera flash (or use both) without having to swap out for a different trigger.A few things I wish were different:1. The plastic. It's a hard and durable plastic, but it doesn't feel great to the touch. Maybe more of a personal preference.2. Battery charging. Godox is capable of integrated USB-C charging for a battery, as their V1 Pro has this feature. Unfortunately, you still need to use a separate charger for this. Not the end of the world, but this feels like it would have been an easy win.All in all, this is a great functional off camera flash. Is it worth the price over some less expensive brands? That's a bit subjective.... I will say, I think this is a good value at $350 for the features. Additionally, there are some features (like the 1/512 power for fill flash, or bare bulb option) which you can't find in a portable 200w option. This is a good value if you need the features this has, or know you will be growing with your gear and have the money to blow on your hobby. It is a quality product!
