The X1T-S has a decent quality and works pretty reliably -- it's better on both fronts than the more expensive XPro S, though the interface is very clunky in comparison, and not nearly as nice or friendly to use as its big-screen brother that is button-rich.There is a point taken off for the slightly arcane interface, which was great many years ago, but not so much now that Sony, Canon, Nikon, and even most third party manufacturers like Yongnuo have come up with excellent remote controllers. Both the display and the manual (which is terribly written) are arcane, and there's no way that you can guess what most of the settings are without a booklet..However, compared to the XPro S, the On/Off switch on the side is better located, allowing for easy one-handed (right thumb) operation to shut it on or off. And, the plastic and build quality just feels more rugged. Also on the bright side, the AF illuminator works with Sony A7R/A9 cameras (NOTE: you need to set C. Fn. 10 to 01, which his undocumented in the manual -- C. Fn. 10 isn't even IN the manual; also make sure you're in AFS). I think this is the only device currently that has a working AF illuminator. However, it doesn't really work that well, in the sense that autofocus in the dark still barely works and doesn't come close to DSLR. Also, it is strangely off-center, with a very bright center point that is significantly to the left of the camera's AF center point.

I use it with my new Godox AD200. Setting the settings on my off camera flash has never been easier.
