Sehr gutes und preiswertes Mikroskop, das Schliffbild der Ferrule kann sehr gut und genau begutachtet werden.Der 1.25mm Adapter ist in einer kleinen Tasche im Deckelder Verpackung und kann leicht übersehen werden.

I am fairly careful about cleaning connectors with cleaning cassettes but I was having some lingering concerns and bought this device.It is excellent at the simple task of viewing the endface for cleanliness. Interestingly, some of the dirt is not removed with the cleaning cassette so a wipe with alcohol (IPA), dry wipe and then use of the cleaning cassette (to remove residual solvent or dirt) usually does the trick. So, just because one has used a cleaning cassette, it does not follow that all dirt is removed. This inspection microscope allows one to check that. It is worth mentioning that cleaning with a solvent should never be done with light going through the fibre, or the solvent can be converted to a very hard carbon film.I also spotted one patchcord where the core had been pitted, so no amount of cleaning will cure that.Some reviewers have complained about ferrules not fitting in the adoptor: I have found some to be too tight, some too loose, so this is probably variability in the ferrules.In terms of points for improvement, a mechanism for holding ferrules that are slightly too small (and therefore, loose) would be good. Also a way of holding 2.5mm ferrules in front of the back-illumination window would also be helpful: (like most humans) I only have two hands and with one used to hold the microscope, one to hold the fibre into the adaptor, I have no means of holding the far end in front of the back-illumination window.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

was getting odd reading on my fiber test rig, bought this scope to check it out. WOW could not believe how much oil and water drops were on not only the cladding but the core was shocking. fantastic tool at a great price!

The scope works great. I don't really like the rubber casing, since I know over time it will get sticky. But the scope is well worth the price I paid and works beautifully.

So far, so good. I bought this to troubleshoot link issues with 10G fiber links. I suspect that there is a lot of dirty fiber connectors that are causing errors and link instability.When it arrived, I immediately plugged in some MM fiber that I have had for years at home. I saw quite a bit of dirt and grime on the connectors. It was my first time seeing dirty connectors with my own eyes. I'm definitely a believer about cleaning fiber now. At work I plugged in some SM fiber and saw dirt and grime on the connectors as well. You can definitely make out the core if you use what's called the "backlight window" to shine light down the cable. Seeing the core with MM fiber is very easy.Just for kicks I tried to "clean" the MM fiber connectors by rubbing it on my shirt. It ended up making the connector a lot dirtier and gave it streaks. I then tried cleaning it with a lint free cloth. This did a better job, but still left some residue. This is all the more reason to clean fiber from here on out.At first I didn't think I received the 1.5mm adapter for use with LC connectors, but I found it inside a pocket in the case. It's easy to moss since the pocket is secured shut with velcro.My only complaint is that the light used to illuminate the connector surface is pretty bright. I wouldn't want to look at fiber all day long with one of these. I'm looking into buying a telescope smartphone mount, so I can mount my iphone to it and just look at it with my iphone camera. You can do it wothout the mount, but it's a little tricky to line your camera up with the viewing lense.The seller I bought it from was located in Hong Kong. I didn't realize this until after I ordered, but I didn't have any issues. The package arrived within a few days since I paid for accelerated shipping($19). I was a little surprised when the DHL driver texted me to ask for permission to leave the package, but DHL confirmed it was normal for their drivers to so that.Overall, I have no regrets with this purchase.

I was charged customs for this product and it was 30% of actual cost. Its waste because this raised the price to an extent that I could have bought it in stores locally cheaper. Product is heavy and seems to work well as specified.
