If this is representative of Hazet’s standards, then Hazet need to take a long hard look at their priorities and the future trajectory of their brand.The first thing I noticed was the insanely gritty feel to the threads as the head cap was tightened or loosened. An internal inspection of the cap and male threads on the tool body revealed copious amounts of swarf, a sandy substance that was probably left over from the grinding process, and black shop dirt - all clearly left in there at the conclusion of manufacturing.Once I’d cleaned most of this off, I was able to inspect the condition of the threads inside the cap; these were very roughly finished and with sections of the thread actually missing in several places, as the photo shows.The next noteworthy defect was the hardened jaws. On one of these there was a noticeable burr right along the top edge just at the point where it rides up and down the inside taper of the cap. This is a serious defect inasmuch as it prevented the jaws from travelling up and down the internal taper evenly and therefore put undue strain on the spring steel connecting wire as well as prevented the jaws from holding a tap perfectly square to the body of the holder.This burr had to be filed away in order to achieve proper functioning of the jaws.The jaws themselves were interesting in that they were covered all over in a tenacious black scaly deposit (presumably either the unbonded remnants of a black oxide coating or scaling left after the hardening and tempering process). This had to be vigorously wire-brushed off to produce a finish that was acceptable for a new hand tool.Lastly I would say the wall thickness of the cap is rather too thin to be strong enough to withstand daily shop use. Comparing it with similar tools by other manufacturers I would say the wall thickness is only around 60% of that of end caps in rival manufacturers’ tools.The only good things about this Hazet tap holder are that it does at least work acceptably now after my intervention, and the unusual intaglio knurling on the cap is actually very effective in providing much needed grip in an oily environment.

Die Idee ist wirklich super.Ich habe im Kofferraum an schwer zugänglichen Ecken Gewinde schneiden müssen. Damit und einer Ratsche hat es super funktioniert.JEDOCH ist die Qualität echt nicht die beste. Nach ein paar Gewinde sind die backen echt schon stark abgenutzt. Und Eiern tut es auch extrem.Trotzdem 4 Sterne da ich mein Ziel damit erreichen konnte und keine Alternative kenne.

The Chuck spike is wearing out only in the first day of use.Is difficult to tight the chuck and do not hold the tap bit enough and is loosing it easily.Is unlucky because this kind of tools are very rare and needed for special works.

Ich habe beide gekauft: die 6.3er und den 8er.Ich habe zwar in anderen Rezessionen gelesen, dass die Spannfutter eiern.Aber ich dachte mir: kann nicht so schlimm sein.Falsch gedacht, absolut unbrauchbar!Eiert so stark dass man kein ordentliches Gewinde schafft. (mein Bohrfutter läuft hervorragend rund beim Schrauber!)Traurig, und dass von einer namhaften Firma...

Das Produkt ist sehr minderwertig verarbeitet.Die Gewindebohrer lassen sich nicht gerade einspannen.Somit werden die Gewinde schief und sind unbrauchbar.Ich kann nicht verstehen, wie HAZET so ein Produkt ausliefern kann.
