I have tested this with a home automation PLC and the induction worked perfectly first go. I have tried a few materials from steel to copper and all are detected in the expected distance range. Very useful and cheaper than RS.

I have acquired a few items of this type/brand and have generally had very good luck with everything working as described.Unfortunately I can only review the product in front of me now and this one was dead on arrival.

They work flawlessly. But they can't stand to work much more than 100mA for a long time - the housings start to heat up.
