I never used a printer that had the WIFI set features. My old one had the USB cable and when the old one gave out so did the cable well I thought I needed that cause the printer didn't like the CD that came with the printer anyway all is done and prints the greeting cards front and back so great. Thanks Amazon. As always everything I bought has really been great.

When I was setting up the printer and installed the ink cartridges that came with it a message came up telling me that the magenta cartridge was defective and had to be replaced. I put in a new magenta cartridge I had purchased for my previous HP Photosmart printer and immediately got the message that I had installed the wrong cartridge and to please install a new "installation" cartridge to continue to set up the new printer. I had no more "installation" cartridges so I called HP Customer Support. After going round and round with two or three people because they couldn't seem to understand that without that cartridge my new printer wouldn't even get to the screens they wanted me to get to on the printer. The last person I talked to got exasperated and simply hung up on me! I packed up the printer, shipped it back, and now am extremely pleased with my new Epson all-in-one printer, a Workhorse model. I was always an Epson person (I have a Mac computer) and decided to try an HP this time. I will NEVER buy another HP printer. For one thing both the old printer and the new one were very noisy and sounded like an old clanky machine that mlght just fall apart in the process. Secondly HP'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I will stick with Epson for now on. Much better, quieter product and their Customer Service is far superior to HP's.

I have VISTA and I'm having a lot of trouble with scanning. With my last HP printer all I did was hit scan and it came right up. This one I have to go thru a bunch of commands to get it to work without encrypting the text. I was told its because I use Google Chrome. Fortunately I don't do too much scanning, but it is quite frustrating when I do have to scan something. Regular and double sided printing are fine and I'm happy with that.

My sister is currently traveling Europe for two weeks with her family. Thanks to the eprinter my Dad who does not own a computer (and doesn't care to) is enjoying the vacation along with my other siblings and myself as she sends photos that print out - along with emails to keep in touch. Of course it also allows the rest of us kids to keep in touch with him also. Sometimes you just don't have enough to say or enough time to call, but with this printer we can send an email - a simple "Thinking of you", or a joke, and he feels the love coming through the printer. For those wondering, he lives with same sister & family they have wifi which is required to eprint. There is a printer (and service) called Presto for those who do not have wifi, but would still like to receive emails without a computer, it simply requires a regular phone line.So why 4 stars? Probably really deserves 3 with all the little hassles, but realizing a lot of people don't read reviews only go by the ratings, I didn't want to drag it down too much.Problems1) A bit of a hassle to set up for eprint as you have to have a computer, while this has a screen, it doesn't allow that type of interaction. You must enter the email addresses of those allowed to send to the printer (this keeps spam out) so this will need updated if anyone changes or adds another address, or if there is another person.2) It emails confirmations as to whether your email was received, and whether it was printed or not and gives the reason. (this service may be turned off) For the first two weeks we got a lot of received but didn't print, due to varies problems (real or imagined by printer). If wifi goes off for a second when email is sent it won't print - however, it does try again, not certain how many times. Big problem though we rec'd confirms that email was printed when it was not. And of course that took a few days to discover. Finally by third week it seemed to settle down and usually worked well. However, it just started acting up again - confirmations sent that emails were printed yet the printer is spitting out blank pages. Have no idea what this is about, lasted about 36 hours, I had called to suggest he turn it off for 10 minutes and back on, but he mentioned his crossword came across that morning (one of several free services you can sign up for), so I tried a re-send and it worked.I had an HP computer 5 or so years ago and thought their customer service was top notch, however, my sister has been in charge of dealing with the printer and she's not been as happy with the customer service - but she's done email or chat, I always called.SUMMARYAs a regular printer, it is top notch, good with print or pictures. As an eprinter, still good, but certainly not without it's problems. Eprinting is still in it's infancy, so I expect it to only improve. While some of the problems might have been with the wifi connection - false confirms are NOT good. I'm not sure why this problem is persisting from time to time. If I get a confirmation that my email was printed, I should be able to trust that, yet I cannot. In short, it's been a bit frustrating, but I don't regret the purchase, my siblings contact him more often and send pictures of grandkids now due to the ease of email and my Dad loves being more involved with everyone.

Very satisfied with this printer. Replaced an old Photosmart 1100 with it. Much faster. Clear. Easy to set up and get going. Hard to find a "plain vanilla" printer anymore. I do not need fax, or wireless. Of course this has wireless capability, but do not need it. Fits my needs perfectly.
