I use the machine mainly for leg extensions and seated leg curls. It is possible to modify the resistance arc so the weight arm is at 90 degrees when you're in the stretched position. It's a bit awkward to do while the machine is loaded, but doable. Other models have a stopper peg on the machine that you can put a plate on to stop the machine at a higher arc, but this one doesn't. Not the end of the world, just be careful when loading and unloading the machine. It would also be nice if the support foot under the weight arm extended out a bit further, you could mount a pulley block and convert the machine to be cable loaded.

This is a terrific machine. Love that you can do seated hamstring curls or prone with a quick switch of the seats and pins.It holds a lot of weight, its smooth and the additional weight holder is nice. You just need to make sure you have the pin set on the right hole before extensions or curls. If it's not adjusted right, when you extend/curl it seems like it won't work (either over rotates and the weight gets "stuck" at the top...or doesnt rotate enough to get full extension) - so you just need to move the pin a hole or two for the correct rotations/leverage point. Now that I know where I like my settings, I marked them with a sharpie for quicker switching out. There are a TON of holes to choose your perfect movement and right extension for your leg length. For reference, I'm 5'6 and my husband's 5'11 and it fits us both just fine.✨️BONUS: I also use this for sissy squats.Just get the pad in behind your knees while facing the seat, toes against the bottom bar and away you go, locks you in nice! ...BUT don't do sissy squats without having additional weight on the extra weight peg in the back or you risk tipping the machine.I looked at a lot of machines and am glad I went with this one. The pad is thick on the seat, back and leg. Good quality and sturdy!

Assembly: ★★★★★Instructions are straightforward, some parts are pre-assembled (mechanical), all tools are included, you can be exercising in under an hour. You're basically assemble pre-assembled pieces just so it can stand up and so you can sit on it.ASSEMBLE THE ENTIRE THING ONLY FINGER-TIGHT FIRST. Yes, everything will be super loose, but hold together and give you a chance to spot issues before tightening. Sockets would be speedier, but included tools are sufficient. Don't over tighten, the steel WILL ABSOLUTELY BEND IN.Seems relatively stable for what it is.Quality: ★★★Definitely not commercial grade as claimed. Steel is just basic mild and thin (typical cheap home equipment), non-glossy and rough, mild powder coat which wears easily. Commercial grade would be thicker and heavier steel with glossy coating, weighing 50%-100% more. The only pieces possibly approaching "commercial grade" are the mechanicals for weights. If they were as mild as the frame, it would all eventually fold onto itself under weight. At least one piece arrived worn down to bare metal and it was evident that it was packed this way, because there's a lot of bubble wrap and the range of wear is too great for what packaging would allow. Poor quality control.Another concern is small bolts used to hold together few weight-bearing parts. See one of the reviews with the bent arm and worn pivot bearing.Instructions for use: ★None. Save the photo from Amazon page and good luck.Usability: ★★★★There's barely any load with the weight hanging in its home position. You'll have to set it up so the weight is rotated in order to preload. Luckily, adjustability range is infinite.I'm 5'10" and the machine is not too small. Think it would be usable for someone up to 6"2"+ (I had to scoot the back rest forward and seat higher up, because that's how much it accommodates).Portability: ★★★★It's not commercial garden, so you'll easily move it around. While you can't push it through the doors room to room, you can fold down the backrest and it'll be 29" tall, which will allow you to drag it through door openings at least that wide.Dimensions are misleading. You'll need at least a foot more on sides and back for weight storage / weigh-down and weight swapping, and obviously a lot of space in the front, depending on which exercises you'll use it for.Final thoughts:Need some sort of handle on weight peg, so one can easily pre-load. It's too easy to get hurt as it is now.I'd gladly pay $200 more for heavier steel and glossy, durable finish, because the machine is large enough, has a very good range of adjustability in regards to seating and offers a variety of exercises (not just for legs).Need a printed exercise guide.How-to video would be nice (there's a QR code linking to YT videos, but this machine is missing from the list.Definitely don't be fooled by "Small company / Ours vs. Others blah blah.." This is, in fact, a piece produced by one Chinese factory and painted differently for different "Brands," which will soon disappear (that's just how they all operate out of China).Do purchase a protection plan (see one of the reviews with bent / worn mechanical parts).

So I bought this machine for my vacation cabin as keeping my knees strong is super important at my age. My previous one was a 750 dollar XMARK machine and I have been using it for 5 years. If 750 is in your budget, then I suggest you buy that machine. It is superior.I knew better than to buy a 300 dollar machine but 750 was a bit hard to swallow for a second machine. So I compromised and bought this HVO machine. I used a 100 dollar coupon but only got 80 dollars of it at checkout for some reason. It came with broken parts so I will redo this review if I ever receive the broken parts. It seems sturdy and I think it will work as well as the other one. Some Comparisons to my XMARKWhere XMARK WINS:XMARK has a much more substantial pivot bearing.XMARK has a grease fitting, HVO doesnt.XMARK is a more substantial solid machine and weighs 45 lbs more than the HVOWhere HVO wins:HVO does more than simple leg extension and curls, you can lay on your stomach and do leg curls.HVO has 3 other workout configurations that my XMARK does not.HVO has a much better lower leg adjustment than my XMARK.BOTH machines are stable and solid. XMARK has gone 4 years of heavy daily use without issues. I need a couple parts to put the HVO through its paces.MORE TO COMEUPDATE: HVO sent me the replacement parts and made me whole. They also sent me a free weight bench for my troubles. What an awesome company so I changed to 5 stars. No complaints with this purchase.
