Buona Musica.PS Amazon puntuale e precisa come sempre.

What can I say the five stars doesn't already say. The unit showed up quickly. The packaging might even make an Apple iPhone jealous. The install went effortless. The most important feature, sound quality, fantastic! It improved the sound coming from my PC to the point that it was easy to hear. There is no going back to my sound card and I had a very high end sound card. The improvement is a very sophisticated ESS Sabre DAC chip and moving the processing away from the noisy PC. This processing away from the PC allows the jitter to become extremely low and jitter is one of the banes of digital audio. I am using this with a pair of self powered JBL series 3 mini-monitors. These are really excellent sounding speakers so they really benefit form the iDAC. Now I am ripping my CD collection to FLAC so I can really enjoy this set up. I recommend if you go this route to pick up decent cables. You don't have to go too crazy but do not skimp. I have only used the unit as a headphone amp once to see how it sounded since I don't like music too close to my ears. The headphones I used need power to really bring out the best in them and this unit played them really well so when I go on future trips where I might bring headphones along I will definitely bring this DAC/ headphone amp also.

I may not have the ears of a dog, but I am fairly geeky about audio reproduction. I spent 5+ years making a CD-Player from scratch using a Pacific Microsonics PMD100 Digital Filter, Analogue Devices AD1862-NJ DACs, Class A I/V stage and a lot of time in the forums with design heavy-weights revising and fine-tuning. The result? It sounds stunning. The problem, it gets a bit tired to burn all your digital music onto CD. -I often will choose to purchase my music lossless and download it because I'm a bit impatient to wait for the CD to show up in the post. Not to mention the limits of the medium. So, convenience always came at a cost. -I could never get music out of my computer. It only sounded like music to my ears after ripping to CD and playing that way. -Too much jitter, IMD, phase noise, etc. It just sounded closed-in, grainy & flat to my ears. I've been using a EMU-O202 USB before the iDAC.With iFi iDAC, I no longer have that problem. -I hate to admit it, but I think it may even best my CDP for SQ. At any rate, it is certainly on par, and that's saying something. It renders complex music very well, there's space between sounds, but most importantly, I forget it's there. I can now simply enjoy the music instead of getting annoyed.Admittedly, the EMU-0202 is not much of a reference. I've listened to other DACs but never felt that the upgrade was justified. With the iDAC, not so. Get it. With the engineering prowess of AMR behind this product, you simply will not be disappointed.

I was looking for DAC to listen music from my notebook for almost 3 months. Finally I've found it! The iFi iDAC is portable, yet powerful (sounds perfect with my Beyerdynamic DT 880 250Ω). The music is more natural, deeper and cleaner. I think this is the ultimate solution for true Hi-Fi experience from notebooks or everywhere where you can't use the socket.
