Wow, what can I say about this cross-stitch kit for making some fun and funky bookmarks other than it's truly fantastic!It's a really comprehensive kit that includes 14 coloured threads, aida fabric with the pattern printed on it, needles, scissors, a threader, instructions and some backing fabric. It really does include everything you could possibly need to make all of the bookmarks in this set.All the pieces are nice quality, including the aida, and the thread is good too (and very vibrant) and doesn't fray at all. The bookmarks are well designed and a great size. I can't wait to get started on these. Once finished they'll make great gifts.Highly recommended.

✅ Includes everything you'll need to make six reading-themed bookmarks✅ Pattern is printed clearly and accurately, matching the aida fabric squares✅ Full skeins of embroidery floss rather than pre-cut threads (makes it feel safer for beginners that they won't run out of floss if they make a mistake and need to unpick)✅ Also includes a needle threader (very helpful for beginners)⛔ Some of the patterns include backstitch; the instructions do not explain how to backstitch (not quite beginner-friendly)⛔ One of the patterns ("blast off with books") has backstitching you cannot do as shown without starting and ending in the middle of aida blocks - while doable, this is also not quite beginner-friendly⛔ No finishing instructions (yes, "peel the plastic of the sticky felt backing and stick your bookmark on it" is not rocket science - still!)⛔ Sticky felt backing is a little too large for the bookmarks (ideally you want to fold the edges of the aida back so you won't get fraying - if you do this you'll have to carefully trim the backing after applying it)⛔ One of the bookmarks is trimmed off-centre (one block of blank aida on one side, three on the other)⛔ Scissors are absolutely useless⛔ Needles are pointed, not rounded tipWould I recommend this? Ehhhhhhh. Not for a complete beginner. If someone has a few cross stitch projects under their belt already, including backstitch, they'll be fine.
